[Da Nang Family Trip] Melia Beach Resort Review | Our Stay with a 36-Month-Old Little One!

Day 2 of our Da Nang family trip, and this time, it's all about our stay at Melia Danang Beach Resort!
Traveling with a 36-month-old means we put extra care into choosing the perfect place to stay.
In this post, I've covered everything from Melia Danang Resort's prime location to handy tips for traveling with a little one! :)
1. Hotel Hop in Da Nang – From Wink Hotel to Melia Danang Beach Resort
After a quick return to Wink Hotel,
we got ready for check-out.
We actually had the luxury of a 24-hour check-out, so we could've lingered a bit more, but
our next resort's check-in was calling, so we quickly organized our luggage :)

Our home for the next two nights was set to be...
...none other than the stunning Melia Danang Beach Resort!
It was a quick 20-minute drive from Wink Hotel.
Initially, I thought, '20 minutes? That's practically next door!' haha,
but it felt a little farther than I'd anticipated.
When it came to sightseeing or indulging in a massage,
it turned out most things were concentrated around the Wink Hotel area.
However, what truly makes Melia stand out among Da Nang resorts is its irresistible private beach.
2. Melia Danang Resort: Check-in & A Glimpse of the Lobby

Here's your first look at the Melia Danang Beach Resort lobby.
While there are doors, the space feels wonderfully open and airy.
So, don't expect it to be super air-conditioned! Haha.
There's a stylish bar right in the lobby,
and I absolutely intended to check it out,
but alas, time got away from me! ㅠ
3. Room Tour & Family Travel Hacks

After checking in and stepping into our room, what a delightful surprise awaited us!

I must have noted it in the special requests when booking the Melia Danang Beach Resort,
because it looks like they really paid attention!
I'd mentioned it was a special trip to celebrate both my mother-in-law's birthday and our little one, Kongtteok's, birthday.
And there it was – a lovely mini cake! How incredibly thoughtful!

Alright, let's dive into the room tour!
The bathroom is conveniently located right by the entrance.
There's a lovely bathtub, and since the glass wall can be seen from outside, make sure to draw the curtain for some privacy, zoom zoom zoom~!

I loved that the shower and toilet were in separate areas – super convenient!

You'll find comfy bathrobes and even traditional Vietnamese hats, too!
I meant to try them on and explore, but ended up just snapping a quick pic in the room instead, haha.
On the right, you'll spot complimentary bottled water and a coffee maker.
And just below, a handy mini-fridge.
Adjacent to that, you'll notice a door.
This is actually part of a connecting room setup,
meaning it connects to the room next door.
For larger groups, a connecting room like this would be absolutely perfect.
(We actually enjoyed a connecting room in Hoi An too~ >_<)

As there were three adults in our party,
we opted for twin single beds and added an extra one.
But where did little Kongtteok sleep, you might be wondering?
Well, right here~
4. Air Mattress Hacks for Traveling with a Baby

Ta-da!! It's an air mattress!
I really agonized over accommodation when booking.
Our little one is still young and rolls all over the place even when sleeping.
I remember once staying at a hotel before,
and I was so worried I couldn't even sleep myself.
So, after a lot of searching, I saw this tip!
People were bringing air mattresses.
What a brilliant idea!
When we slipped it right between the single beds, it naturally created a guard on both sides,
and it was just perfect.
Even Kongtteok loved it when we set up the air mattress for them.
After we finished setting it up like this,
Melia Danang Beach Resort truly proved to be the optimal accommodation for family trips.

⬇️ AliExpress Intex Dura-Beam Air Mattress ⬇️

You don't need an overly expensive air mattress!
I bought this one affordably on AliExpress.
I even packed fewer clothes to make space for this, haha.
⬇️ AliExpress Portable Electric Air Pump ⬇️
If you're looking for an affordable portable electric air pump, check out the product below 👇
For inflation, I bought this cute electric air pump.
It's rechargeable, so no separate batteries are needed.
It can be used for both inflation and deflation!
I bought this on Ali as well!
(I bought so many things from Ali for this trip, haha!)
5. Rainy Da Nang: Cafe Time Before the Dragon Bridge Cruise

After unpacking and resting a bit,
it started to rain.
Actually, to see the Dragon Bridge fire show,
we had planned to have dinner and then go on the Dragon Bridge cruise.
We got all ready and were wondering what to eat when...
we searched for a Korean restaurant and went there.
I'm not sure if Grab's map was acting up...
but it dropped us off in a strange place.
So, when we tried to hail another Grab, perhaps because of the heavy rain,
it wasn't easy to get one, and there weren't many suitable restaurants nearby.
So, we quickly headed to a cafe located right in front of the cruise boarding area.

Its location is right in front of where you board the cruise.
The cafe was bigger than I expected.
However, it seemed like not many tourists visited,
as the staff didn't speak much English, haha.
Inside the cafe, everyone was local.

We took shelter from the rain here and waited for our cruise time to begin.
I really recommend the Melia Danang Beach Resort for family travelers! :)
In the next post, I'll share all the details about the Danang Dragon Bridge cruise and my review of the Baedal K delivery app!
Make sure to follow me so you don't miss out! 💕
It took about 20 minutes by car from Wink Hotel to Melia Danang Beach Resort. The author mentioned it felt further than expected.
By noting in the reservation request that it was a birthday trip, we were able to receive a mini cake as an event service at Melia Danang Beach Resort. This was mentioned as a thoughtful service from the accommodation.
An Intex Dura-Beam air mattress was used for the 36-month-old baby's stay. This air mattress was reportedly purchased from AliExpress for ~$12.
The cafe located right in front of the cruise boarding point was large, but the staff didn't speak English well, and most of the customers inside were locals. It was suitable for sheltering from the rain while waiting for the cruise.
