Starting your walk from the 3.15 Marine Nuri Park near the newly opened Korea Democracy Hall, you can follow the coastline to discover the bustling fish market, the famous Eel Alley, and Pufferfish Soup Alley. Along the way, you will find excellent hotels overlooking Masan Bay and the majestic Machang Bridge.
Korea Democracy Hall
Masan holds a deeply significant place in modern Korean history. It was the epicenter of the historic March 15th protests against election rigging, and a major stage for the 1979 Bu-Ma Democratic Uprising against authoritarian rule.
The Korea Democracy Hall was established near the historic site where the body of student activist Kim Ju-yeol was recovered—a tragic catalyst for the 1960 April Revolution—to honor and remember Masan’s resilient democratic spirit.

It is an educational and moving space for visitors of all ages, offering insightful exhibitions, interactive programs, and cultural performances that bring history to life.
With several indoor observation decks offering peaceful views of Masan Bay, it is also a highly recommended destination for rainy days.

Masan Accommodations
There are two standby hotels in Masan that offer great value and convenience.
The first is the Sky View Hotel, located right next to the fish market. The second is the Masan Tourist Hotel, situated directly in front of Happo Waterfront Park.

Sky View Hotel is incredibly convenient for exploring the market and walking down to the bay. It features a beautiful top-floor venue with panoramic views that is a popular choice for local events and weddings.
The guest rooms are exceptionally clean and modern, and the hotel features a well-equipped fitness center for guests.
The breakfast here is also highly rated and delicious.

Because it sits slightly back from the immediate shoreline, you will want to request a higher floor if you are looking for unobstructed ocean views.
With peak summer rates (July and August) starting in the very reasonable ~$64 range, it is an excellent base for your Masan trip.

Masan Tourist Hotel is situated in a quieter spot compared to Sky View and is slightly more budget-friendly. The rooms are clean, and best of all, every room faces the water, offering fantastic ocean views.

While the views and prices are fantastic, keep in mind that it sits across from the industrial harbor. You will see large ships coming and going, and you might hear occasional ship horns in the early morning.

That said, the rooftop and room views are absolutely stunning.
You can secure up to an 8% discount on Masan Tourist Hotel when booking 30 days in advance using early bird promotions.

The Korea Democracy Hall is an indoor attraction established to commemorate Masan's democratic spirit, including the protests against the March 15th rigged election and the Buma Democratic Resistance. Inside, there is an observatory where you can view the sea off Masan. It is highly recommended to visit alongside the nearby site where the body of Martyr Kim Ju-yul was recovered and the 3.15 Marine Nuri Park.
The lowest rates for the Sky View Hotel in July and August start at ~$64. The hotel features fitness facilities for guests, and there is also a wedding hall located on the top floor.
Masan Tourist Hotel offers great views as all rooms face the ocean, but it is located right across from an industrial complex. Because of this, you might hear ship horns in the early morning as large vessels come and go, so please keep this in mind for your stay.
You can receive a discount by using the Nolday coupon available on the Yanolja (NOL) details page. If you book at least 30 days prior to your stay, a discount of up to 8% is applied.
