Maple Beach Golf & Resort (Pool & Ocean Views)
🚘 East Coast Road Trip: Day 2
For the second night of our getaway, we booked a resort famous for having some of the best unobstructed ocean views on Korea's east coast. I happily tagged along to check it out!
💙💛🩷
An incredible oceanfront stay for around $130 a night

We spent our afternoon swimming, enjoying a delicious dinner on-site, and fully embracing the staycation lifestyle.

Compared to our first accommodation, this resort offered so many activities and amenities that I had to write a detailed review. Here is everything you need to know about Maple Beach Resort in Gangneung.
1. Location & Parking
📍 Address: 255 Yeomjeon-gil, Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do
We actually missed the parking entrance at first and ended up on the golf course, but quickly found our way back!

🅿️ Once you see the main resort building, look for the small parking entrance ramp just below.

The parking lot is spacious and easy to navigate.
Unlike some of the massive, crowded hotels in the area, Maple Beach feels exclusive and peaceful, which was a huge plus for us. 👍🏻
2. Check-In & Resort Facilities
The resort is known for its excellent dining, and we decided to try their Eco Garden restaurant for dinner because we were honestly too relaxed to drive out anywhere else.

Spoiler alert: the food was absolutely fantastic! We were genuinely surprised by the quality.
🥰

Walking into the lobby, the staff greeted us with incredible warmth and hospitality.

The lounge spaces are beautifully designed, and there is a separate outdoor pool area (which was closed during our visit, but looks amazing for peak summer).

They even had a display selling Cell Fusion C skincare products and sheet masks. I almost bought a few but managed to resist! 💸

The resort sits right alongside a beautiful golf course, giving it a high-end, relaxing country club feel reminiscent of luxury golf resorts.
3. The Ultimate Ocean View
We were assigned a room at the very end of the 3rd floor. The resort offers various room categories including Suites, Deluxe, and Family rooms, but **I highly recommend requesting the 3rd floor for the best ocean views.**

The second we opened the door, we were greeted by this:

Wow! 🌊 It felt like looking through a massive frame directly onto the East Sea.

Our room type was the **Corner Side View**.
Note that the 1st-floor rooms are lower to the ground, so they don't offer this same unobstructed panoramic view of the water.

Even though the weather was a bit overcast, the view was still absolutely stunning. With the deep blue sea in front and lush green pine trees to the side, it felt incredibly refreshing.
I must have thanked my partner a hundred times for booking this place!

If you get clear skies, the sunrises and sunsets here are guaranteed to be unforgettable.

The window sill is the perfect spot to sit and take some aesthetic travel photos.

For the peak travel season of July and August, finding an oceanfront room of this caliber for **around ~$128 per night** is an absolute steal. **Booking early gets you the best rates**, so definitely check availability ahead of time! ♡

4. Room Condition & Amenities
Our Corner Room featured an in-room jacuzzi along with practical amenities like a **microwave, refrigerator, and electric kettle**.

There are no strict restrictions on bringing in outside food, which is great. However, since the resort is somewhat secluded, I highly recommend stocking up on snacks and drinks before you arrive (the on-site convenience store is quite small).

There is a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall and a cozy seating area.

We ended up using the resort pool so we didn't use the in-room jacuzzi, but soaking here while staring out at the ocean would be incredibly relaxing.

The room also has a small table and comfortable chairs.

Compared to our hotel from the previous night, **the bedding and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and of much higher quality.** I slept like a baby!

This is the view right from the bed. I lost count of how many photos I took of this exact window!
5. Bathroom & Toiletries
The bathroom was impressively large, modern, and spotlessly clean.

I loved that the toilet and shower areas were completely separated into private stalls. It felt very hygienic and convenient.
6. The Indoor Pool with a View
If you are looking for a hotel in Gangneung with a gorgeous indoor pool and ocean vistas, this is the spot.

Since we visited during the travel season, there were a few other guests enjoying the water, but it never felt overly crowded.
