My Honest Review of Hoshidam Private Villa

We recently traveled down south for a wedding in Gwangju and decided to spend one night in Damyang.

Coming all the way from Seoul, it was definitely a long drive (nearly 180 miles! ㄷㄷ 😂).

🏡 While searching for a cozy place to stay in Damyang, my husband compared quite a few spots, but nothing really caught our eye at first.

Then we stumbled upon Hoshidam Private Villa. It looked incredibly clean, had glowing reviews, and the price was very reasonable, so we booked it immediately.

The Journey (Driving from Seoul)

No Korean road trip is complete without stopping at a highway rest area for some delicious local snacks!

We left on a Friday, but since I finished work around 4:30 PM, we didn't arrive in Damyang until after 9:30 PM.

One thing to keep in mind: Damyang is a quiet countryside town, so most restaurants close early.

The famous local chicken place we wanted to visit was already closed 😭, but after some frantic searching, we found a late-night spot that turned out to be absolutely amazing! (More on that below).

The photo above was taken the next morning, but we actually arrived in the pitch black at 10:10 PM in the pouring rain.

The host kept in touch with us throughout our drive to check our arrival time.

Despite the heavy rain, they even came out to the parking lot to greet us and guide us to our room. Talk about a fantastic first impression! The hospitality here is unmatched.

The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by this incredibly warm and cozy aesthetic—exactly the kind of moody, minimalist vibe Damyang is known for. 🤍

The room was fully equipped with a comfortable bed, a large round wooden table, a plush sofa, air conditioning, and a TV. Everything you need for a relaxing stay.
