Just a 3-minute walk from our accommodation,
nestled right between
Tanimachi Kyuchome Station and

lies a charming, casual Japanese diner
where you can customize your own meal
by choosing from various side dishes
and main courses.
They have multiple branches across Osaka,
including one near Nipponbashi Station.

Since they operate around the clock,
it is the perfect spot for an early breakfast.

You pay after finishing your meal.
Please note that credit cards are not accepted,
so we paid in cash.
Most dishes range from about $1.30 to $3.30 each.
For our group of seven,
including some local sake,
the total came to around ~$51.
How to Order & Menu

Ordering is simple:
Grab a tray first,
and slide it along the counter,
picking the side dishes you want.
For rice and soup,
just tell the staff your preferred size,
and they will serve it hot.
They will also reheat any cold dishes for you!
The showcase features a long display
of freshly prepared dishes.
It is incredibly fun to mix and match.
You will find potato salad, seaweed salad,
grilled salmon, natto,
and seasoned spinach.
They also offer tempura, tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), and miso soup,
giving you a genuine taste of everyday Japanese home cooking.

Simmered burdock root (kinpira gobo),
hijiki seaweed salad,
cod fish nanban,
salmon sashimi,
and fresh seaweed—
there are so many options to choose from!

Stir-fried pork with bean sprouts,
simmered chicken and egg,
breakfast sausages,
simmered eggplant with tofu,
chilled tofu (hiyayakko),
and grilled mackerel.
The sheer variety makes
every visit exciting.
They also stock soft drinks, sake,
and Sapporo beer if you fancy a drink!

They also have hot noodle bowls like kitsune udon, soba,
beef udon, and curry udon.
For your rice, you can choose
small, medium, or large portions.
You can also opt for classic miso soup
or a hearty pork miso soup (tonjiru).
The Food Experience
While it is not dirt-cheap,
the ability to handpick exactly what you want
to create a balanced, nutritious meal
is a huge plus.

The flavors are simple and comforting
rather than mind-blowingly gourmet,
offering an authentic glimpse into
everyday Japanese home cooking.
Even though we ordered small portions of rice and soup,
the serving sizes were very generous!

We saw several locals dining alone,
making this an incredibly welcoming spot for solo travelers.

It was a perfectly seasoned, satisfying meal that didn't feel overly salty.
