September Public Holidays & Festival Schedule
Hola! I'm Melissa, your Spain travel blogger.
September in Madrid offers some truly exciting things to see and do!
Let's dive into the details below.
Ready? ¡Vamos!
1. Madrid September Weather & Public Holidays

*Note on rain forecasts: as there's still time, these can change significantly. Please refer to the average temperatures as a primary guide.
Madrid's weather in September is actually quite pleasant for travelers.
In early September, daytime temperatures can reach around 86°F, so summer clothes like short-sleeved shirts or light dresses are perfect for exploring during the day.
However, Madrid experiences significant temperature swings between day and night. Once the sun sets, it cools down surprisingly fast.
Especially if you're traveling after mid-September, definitely pack a short-sleeved top with a light cardigan or shirt.
The sun can still be quite strong during the day, so sunglasses and sunscreen are absolute essentials!

In early September, daytime temperatures can reach around 30 degrees Celsius, so summer clothes like short-sleeved shirts or light dresses are suitable. From mid-September onwards, it gets cooler after sunset, so it's a good idea to bring a light cardigan or shirt to wear over short sleeves. The sun is strong during the day, so sunglasses and sunscreen are also essential.
In Madrid in September, 'Formula 1 Gran Premio de Espana (F1 Spanish Grand Prix Madrid)' and 'Hotel Tapa Tour Madrid' are held. Official information about the F1 Spanish Grand Prix can be found at madring.com, and detailed information about the Hotel Tapa Tour can be found at hoteltapatour.com.
