The great news is that London is home to many Flat Iron locations these days. Gone are the days before 2020 when there were only one or two spots, forcing everyone into long queues. Accessibility has vastly improved, and you can easily make reservations directly through Google.

Whenever I'm in London, a visit to Flat Iron is non-negotiable. On my most recent trip, I headed to the Tottenham Court Road branch.

What a rare, clear day in London! Before visiting, I simply searched for my chosen Flat Iron location on Google, clicked the reservation button, entered my preferred date, time, and number of guests, and just like that, it was booked!

I always make a reservation just in case, and it’s always a smooth process. Flat Iron locations often retain elements of their original buildings while undergoing renovations, so each branch can have its own unique and interesting interior design.

They really put thought into their decor, making each visit an enjoyable experience.

Upon entering, you’re greeted by the sign: "Great steak for Everyone!" And it truly feels that way. I could honestly eat at Flat Iron for every meal in London. That's how much I love it!

2. Flat Iron Menu & Prices

While you might see "Today's Wagyu" or "Chef's Special" on the board when you enter, I've honestly never ordered anything but their signature Flat Iron steak.

I stick to what I know and love!

Before you even order, they bring out a complimentary bowl of popcorn. For some reason, this popcorn tastes absolutely incredible in the restaurant – way better than any popcorn I've had elsewhere. But don't fill up on it!

The menu is wonderfully simple, which I appreciate. While some restaurants delight customers with a vast array of dishes, others, like Flat Iron, excel by focusing on just one or two core items. Flat Iron is definitely a place that concentrates on its single signature dish.

Armed with their signature axe-shaped knife, I placed my order. I’ve tried all the side dishes, but my absolute favorite combination is the steak with creamed spinach. This pairing is incredibly satisfying and the flavors are just phenomenal.

I prefer my steak rare, and Flat Iron always delivers. The portion size is just right, and the cooking is consistently perfect. Plus, it's only ~$19 USD! You know how hard it is to find a steak of this quality at such a fantastic price in London!

3. My Flat Iron London Review

After enjoying an incredibly good-value steak, you pay at your table (sometimes at the counter). Then, you receive a tiny, nail-sized axe token. This token isn't just a souvenir; it's your ticket to a complimentary ice cream!

Just pop the axe token into the machine, and voilà – your ice cream appears! You’ll see both the ice cream machine and the popcorn machine right there.

While I sometimes feel the ice cream used to taste even better, it’s still the perfect refreshing treat after a rich steak. It truly hits the spot!

Finding a steak at this price point in London is genuinely challenging. Flat Iron truly stands out as one of the best steak spots for value. The only downside is that the steak price does creep up a little each year. It's a bit nostalgic to think that a steak I once enjoyed for just ~$13 USD now costs ~$19 USD!

Despite the slight price increases, it remains a top-tier, budget-friendly restaurant in London. If you're craving a great piece of meat during your London trip, you absolutely must stop by.
