1. Bancone London Locations

Honestly, with London's notoriously high prices, I haven't had many opportunities to visit truly exceptional restaurants here. As I've mentioned in previous posts, my usual go-to was always Flat Iron. However, after a recent London photoshoot, my amazing photographer recommended Bancone.

I've been so impressed with the London Gil photographer that I've booked a session every time I visit London. On my most recent trip, I had a bit more time, so we decided to have a meal together, and that's how I ended up at Bancone.

It turns out this is one of my photographer's favorite spots, and knowing their excellent taste, I knew I was in for a treat.

Booking a table in advance via Google is a smart move, especially if you have a specific location in mind or are visiting during peak dining hours.

2. Bancone London: Recommended Menu & Prices

I visited the Kensington branch of Bancone. From the moment I saw it from afar, its elegant facade made me momentarily worry that it might be too expensive.

However, once I saw the menu, I was pleasantly surprised that the prices weren't as high as I'd feared. Pasta dishes ranged from about ~$19 to ~$21, which I felt was quite reasonable for London.

The restaurant is quite spacious, so you might think there wouldn't be much of a wait, but I heard it gets pretty busy during peak dining hours. If you're planning a special occasion, I highly recommend making a reservation.

The ambiance is fantastic, and the bar seating is excellent too. Being able to watch the chefs prepare the food adds to the overall experience.

I ended up sitting at a table. Initially, I just agreed to whatever my photographer ordered, but there are definitely a few must-try dishes here. I'll show you photos in a moment, but these four are absolute winners you can order without hesitation:

1) Silk Handkerchiefs, Walnut Butter & Confit Egg Yolk

2) Spicy Pork & 'Nduja Ragù with Mafalde

3) Whipped Cod Roe, Pasta Fritta

4) Burrata

3. My Bancone London Review

First up was the Burrata cheese starter. This sizable cheese, seasoned perfectly, was incredibly rich and absolutely delicious!

The accompanying bread and olive oil were also delightful. The lovely atmosphere certainly enhanced the entire dining experience.

Next, the restaurant's signature dish: Silk Handkerchiefs. These freshly made pasta sheets, shaped like delicate handkerchiefs, are served right at your table with a generous sprinkle of cheese. Being made in-house, the pasta was incredibly rich and wonderfully tender.

The addition of truffle elevated the aroma beautifully. If you're not a fan of truffle, I'd suggest skipping this one. But if you love truffle and rich, savory flavors, this is an absolute must-order!

We also ordered a slightly spicy ragù pasta, and the combination was perfect. If you're able to order multiple dishes, I recommend sticking to the list I shared above. However, if you're only getting a few, definitely order the Silk Handkerchiefs, and then carefully choose another dish that appeals to you.

Near the window, they showcase the fresh pasta being made, which really builds confidence in their offerings. Keep in mind that this isn't your typical spaghetti-style pasta, so adjust your expectations accordingly. Also, as this restaurant uses a lot of nuts, those with allergies should be cautious.
