**Slovenian specialties** are incredibly well-developed, and there were so many unique items that would be useful anywhere, even back home.

What's more, the packaging for everything was either luxurious or simply beautiful, making them perfect for gifts.

Whether you're looking for a souvenir or something delicious to enjoy locally, I wholeheartedly recommend **Pumpkin Seed Oil** during your Slovenia trip!

We dipped bread in pumpkin seed oil at our first restaurant meal, and it was **truly nutty and delicious.**

We immediately bought three bottles: one for us, one for my in-laws, and one for my parents.

While souvenir shops also sell pumpkin seed oil, **grocery stores were actually cheaper.**

For 100ml, it's about a €1 difference, and for 250ml, a €2 difference. So, for 500ml, you're probably looking at a €3 difference.

That's quite a significant difference, so I recommend exploring Ljubljana's Old Town and picking it up from the cheapest spot you find!

You'll see truffles everywhere you go, and in restaurants, they generously shave large pieces of truffle onto pasta dishes.

I actually wasn't a huge fan of truffles originally, but seeing them everywhere made me feel like I'd regret not buying some. So I did, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious!

There are so many wonderful and diverse salts available, and Piran Salt is particularly renowned in Slovenia.

It's said to be pure sea salt **harvested from the Piran Sečovlje salt pans.**

Compared to the oils or truffles, the price is more affordable, but the packaging is so clean and pretty you might not even guess it's salt at first glance, making it look perfect for a gift.

Slovenian jams are renowned for their **low sugar content and high fruit pulp ratio.**

At the grocery store we visited, there were unique jams like **onion, pear, and fig**, which aren't typically what you find, so they really caught our eye.

We bought the fig jam, which looked the most delicious, and it was so incredibly tasty just spread on bread that I kept wishing we had bought more!

Later, I discovered that **figs are actually a specialty of Slovenia's coastal regions.**

It seems fruit jams are really popular, as there were so many types of jam at the souvenir shops even when I visited Lake Bled, near Ljubljana.

These are fruit chocolates from Slovenia's chocolate brand, Lucifer.

I have a friend who loves figs, so I bought them fig chocolates (which I thought would last longer than jam), and they said it was absolutely delicious!

The price wasn't even expensive; I wish I had bought more!

While pistachios aren't a specialty of Slovenia, you can find pistachio spreads at supermarkets like SPAR or Mercator for incredible value.

Since the dragon is Ljubljana's symbol and guardian deity, you'll find plenty of adorable dolls in various sizes.

They say there are many wooden crafts at Ljubljana Central Market, but the day we visited, the market wasn't open, so we couldn't properly browse the handmade goods.

However, when we walked along the river in the evening, we found many stalls selling various magnets and small decorative items.
