Are you planning an extended trip to Europe or the UK this upcoming September 2026?
Many European destinations are known for their high costs, and budgeting can be a major concern when planning your travels.
Today, we're excited to introduce a highly recommended and budget-friendly accommodation in London, UK!
Our Top Pick for a Guesthouse in London?
For those heading to London, we want to share a guesthouse that truly impressed us with its affordable pricing and excellent quality. It's a fantastic option for travelers seeking value without compromise.

The guesthouse we're talking about is 'Lighthouse London.' Its prime location near Waterloo Station offers fantastic accessibility, and major landmarks like the London Eye and Big Ben are just a 5-minute walk away, making sightseeing incredibly convenient.

What truly stood out was how impeccably clean the rooms and bathrooms were maintained. Plus, the friendly owner made our stay incredibly satisfying.
It's no surprise that this place consistently receives top ratings (often 5 out of 5 stars) on booking sites. Finding such high quality in a budget-friendly guesthouse in London is quite a rare gem!
Our Review of Lighthouse London's Private Room for Two
We, as a couple, stayed in one of Lighthouse London's private rooms designed for two people. Below, we'll share our firsthand experience.

Keep in mind that private rooms require a minimum 3-night stay. Currently, with ongoing promotions, you can snag a room for around ~$153 per night – an incredibly affordable price, especially when compared to London hotels, which often run ~$219 to ~$292 per night.

Our private room was located on the second floor and featured a bunk bed and a small desk. The room had an overall white aesthetic, and both the bedding and floor were spotlessly clean.

While the room wasn't huge, there was ample space to open two large suitcases. We especially appreciated the convenient power strip installed by the bed, a thoughtful touch from the owner.

Other in-room amenities included a hairdryer, hangers, and a drying rack.

Laundry service was available for ~$5, which was incredibly helpful for refreshing our clothes during our trip. When we stayed previously, the owner even did our laundry while we were out, but policies can sometimes change, so it's always a good idea to confirm upon arrival.

A highlight of the private room was its view. Being a window-side room, we enjoyed a unique view of London's railway tracks, adding a touch of urban charm to our stay.

Moreover, the private room was conveniently located right next to the shared bathroom and shower, making access incredibly easy. Among all the guesthouses we've used in London, Lighthouse boasted the cleanest and most well-maintained bathroom and shower facilities. When we asked, the owner shared that they can't stand anything dirty and personally clean them every single day!

On the first floor, you'll find a compact yet fully equipped kitchen area.
Here, guests can enjoy the provided breakfast and instant noodles, or bring in their own food to prepare and eat.

Breakfast typically includes toast, jam, and cereal, and you might even find additional treats the owner has stocked in the fridge. For dinner, instant noodles are provided (one per person), and the best part is, you can enjoy them anytime you like!

All the necessary crockery and utensils for preparing instant noodles or cereal were neatly stored in the cupboard, and a Brita water filter ensured access to clean, purified water.

While tap water is generally safe to drink, many travelers prefer to filter London's hard water, and the Brita system was a welcome amenity!

During our 3-night stay at Lighthouse London, we managed to cover all our breakfast and dinner needs by combining the guesthouse's offerings with groceries from a nearby supermarket.
This strategy helped us significantly cut down on expenses in London, where dining out can be quite costly!
Save Significantly on Your Travel Expenses!

Today, we've shared our insights on a fantastic value-for-money guesthouse in London, perfect for those planning a trip to Europe and the UK.
