Masan Kwai River Bridge (마산 콰이강의다리) Skywalk, Jeodo Yeon-yukgyo Bridge (저도연육교)
Recommended Drive Course and Must-Visit Spot in Changwon (창원)
Not long ago, I was thinking of going for a light drive during the holidays.
Then, the Masan Kwai River Bridge, which I had seen on TV a few times,
came to mind, and I decided it would be my destination.
To cut to the chase, I set out with a light heart and ended up
having a more fulfilling time than I expected!
On my drive, I unexpectedly encountered Gubok Village (구복마을), and its
serene scenery made my heart feel warm and fuzzy. Plus, there were
plenty of great restaurants, ocean-view cafes, and other fantastic
places to explore nearby.
If you're looking for a trip to Changwon, a place to visit in Masan, or a scenic drive,
this is a spot I highly recommend!
From the thrilling skywalk over the sea to breathtaking open ocean views, let's start this post about Masan
Kwai River Bridge and Jeodo Yeon-yukgyo Bridge!

Jeodo Island (저도) is so beautiful that it was once listed as one of Masan's
nine scenic wonders!
The Masan Kwai River Bridge is also known as the Jeodo Yeon-yukgyo Bridge, connecting the mainland to Jeodo Island. It's said to have been named because of its resemblance to the bridge featured in the movie 'The Bridge on the River Kwai'.
In 2017, it was renovated into a skywalk with a transparent reinforced glass floor.
From about 13.5 meters above the sea, you can enjoy the ocean unfolding beneath your feet, making it a signature tourist spot representing Changwon and Masan!
Spacious and Convenient Parking & The Slow Postbox

The main parking lot was generously spacious near the entrance, and with
second and third parking lots available, finding a spot was a breeze.
The parking attendant kindly guided us, so we parked without any trouble!
Since it can get crowded on weekends or holidays,
arriving with plenty of time might be a good idea.

On the way to the bridge's entrance, you'll find a Slow Postbox where you can create lasting memories of your Changwon trip.
We heard you could receive your letter either a year or a month later, so we each wrote one to each other haha!
It was wonderful to make such sweet, small memories at a travel destination, and the fact that it's free to use was a big plus!
Cultural Tourism Interpretation & Skywalk Photo Zone

There's also a tourist information center, and it was noted that regular cultural tourism interpretations are held twice a day, at 11 AM and 2 PM.
If you'd like to learn the stories behind the Kwai River Bridge,
it might be a good idea to visit during those times.

There are also charming photo zones at the entrance.
There was also a story written there that if you cross the bridge hand-in-hand with someone you love,
your love will come true. So, if you're a budding couple, make sure to hold hands tight and cross! Haha.
But then, I discovered an unexpected, adorable model!!
A kitty was taking a sweet nap in the most comfortable pose, so I just had to snap a picture.

If you love taking photos, be sure to capture some memorable shots at the photo zones at the Skywalk entrance!
Dizzying yet Refreshing Ocean Views: The Kwai River Bridge Skywalk

This iconic Changwon-Masan attraction surpassed 3.5 million visitors as of late August 2025!
After actually visiting, I could totally see why so many people come here.

There's also fun trick art drawn on the bridge's floor~

Especially in the transparent
tempered glass section, where you can clearly see the sea 13.5m below,
it's a little dizzying yet incredibly thrilling!

Standing on the bridge with a gentle breeze and looking out at the wide-open sea,
it felt like my chest was bursting open with refreshment!
Honestly, I came here with no big expectations, just a lighthearted outing,
but it was so good, I ended up visiting two days in a row, haha!
The soft music playing over the bridge
really added to the ambiance.
I LOVE YOU~~
Walking while gazing at the sea scenery, I felt my mind
become relaxed and at peace.

It's great for families, perfect for a date with your loved one,
and nice for a casual stroll with your parents to get some fresh air.

I had been debating whether or not to go to Tongyeong (통영) for the holidays,
but here, I could definitely feel that same ocean vibe you'd get in Tongyeong or Namhae (남해).

I really wanted to take some nice portraits,
but it was super windy and I'd just thrown on some clothes,
so I settled for some hand photos instead, haha!
Another Charm: Shin Jeodo Yeonryukgyo (신 저도연육교)

Right next to the Kwaigangui Dari Skywalk (콰이강의 다리 스카이워크),
you can see the white Shin Jeodo Yeonryukgyo.
With both bridges situated side-by-side,
it's a place where you can experience two distinct charms.

Near the bridge, they also sell snacks where you can
grab a quick bite.
With easy-to-eat options like hotteok (sweet pancakes), eomuk (fish cakes), and beondegi (silkworm pupae),
it looked like a great spot to stop by when you're feeling peckish.
There are also great restaurants and ocean-view cafes nearby, so if you have time,
it would be wonderful to explore them as well!

Shin Jeodo Yeonryukgyo is a two-lane road for vehicles,
but it also has a dedicated pedestrian walkway.
From here, you can see the entire Kwaigangui Dari Skywalk at a glance,
which is why I personally recommend this spot!

The scenery, with the sea and the red bridge blending together, was truly beautiful.
It's one of those places where even casual photos turn out pretty great, haha!
With a Media Facade, It's Also Recommended for a Night Drive!

Summer Season (March-October) | Every night at 7 PM, 8 PM, 9 PM, 10 PM, each show lasting 40 minutes |
Winter Season (November-February) | Every night at 6 PM, 7 PM, 8 PM, 9 PM, each show lasting 40 minutes |
Show Content | Waves of Welcome, Kwaigangui Dari Skywalk, Letters of Hope, Dynamic Garden, Splash, Circles and Flowers, Changwon (창원) Special City Promotion |
I thought it would be beautiful to visit at sunset or at night while crossing the bridge.
But then I heard they even operate a media facade,
I'll have to visit again next time, perhaps as a night drive course!
According to a signboard, the movie
'Indian Summer' (인디언썸머) starring Park Shin-yang (박신양) and Lee Mi-yeon (이미연),
and Gummy's music video 'If You Come Back' (그대 돌아온다면) were also filmed here.
There's even a cute piggy couple statue,
which makes for a great spot to snap a commemorative photo together, haha!

There's also a legend that if you attach a padlock to the 'heart of love' with the Kwai River Bridge (콰이강의다리)
in the background, eternal love will be yours.
If you're visiting with a loved one, attaching a padlock could be a sweet little memory from your Changwon (창원) trip.
Beautiful Gubok Village (구복마을) encountered on the drive

Gubok Village, which I briefly mentioned at the beginning of the post!
Honestly, it was just as memorable as the Kwai River Bridge
during this drive.

The sparkling 'yoonseul' (윤슬) – the shimmering sunlight on the sea – was beautiful,
and the peaceful village scenery was like a painting.
Even if it's not a special tourist spot, isn't encountering such delightful
scenery the true charm of a drive? :)
On the road, I met a super gentle dog,
and also encountered some big geese
quacking loudly as they ate, haha!
The unexpected sights made this drive even more memorable.
Recommended Changwon Travel Courses to enjoy together

Around the Kwai River Bridge, there are great places to explore together,
such as the Marine Drama Set (해양드라마세트장) and Jangsuam (장수암).
If you want to enjoy your Changwon trip a bit more leisurely,
I recommend combining nearby attractions to create your own course!
Especially if you're planning a Changwon outing with kids,
it would be great to also look into Masan Robot Land (마산 로봇랜드).
If you plan to visit, it's a good idea to check the different types of admission tickets
and book them in advance, depending on the number of people and your preferred visiting hours!

If you love ocean views, Jangsuam is truly
a place I wholeheartedly recommend!
The scenery, harmonizing with the sea, is so magnificent it brings to mind Yonggungsa (용궁사) Temple,
making it a perfect spot to explore along with the Kwai River Bridge.
I'll be posting separately about Jangsuam,
so I'll be back with a review soon!
