Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu Review 2026: Sunset Views & Value

I'm excited to share my recent stay at the Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu during my trip! This hotel, which opened its doors in late 2022, still feels wonderfully fresh and modern. While reviews might still be emerging, trust me, from the incredible pool to the immaculate rooms, it’s a true gem!

Its fantastic location near Jesselton Point made our travel plans incredibly convenient, and with a host of amenities, it was the perfect spot for a relaxing 'hotel-cation.'

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu: A Prime Location

The location truly can't be beaten! Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu sits right in the heart of the city, just about a 10-minute walk from Jesselton Point. This is a huge plus, as Jesselton Point is the main jetty for popular island tours and activities like snorkeling. Imagine enjoying a leisurely breakfast and then strolling right over to catch your boat – it’s that convenient.

Plus, with KK Garden Seafood and Suria Sabah Mall nearby, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to dining and shopping. Getting around to explore was incredibly easy.

I even managed to get a complimentary early check-in due to a tight tour schedule. The hotel is new, the staff are genuinely friendly, and their attentive service made my stay incredibly pleasant.

Hotel Facilities, Rooms, and Service

The rooms are sleek and modern, and with sea-view options, I woke up feeling refreshed every morning. The hotel's swimming pool and fitness center are state-of-the-art, perfect for a workout or a relaxing dip. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day right.

Each room is equipped with amenities like a TV, minibar, free Wi-Fi, and a safety deposit box, ensuring a comfortable stay for every traveler.

The en-suite bathrooms are equally stylish and pristine, with separate bathtubs and showers. With various room types available, including King Bed rooms and Suites, it caters perfectly to solo travelers, couples, and even families. And here's a bonus: check-out isn't until 12 PM!

Hotel Pool Information

The Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu boasts a stunning outdoor swimming pool! Designed as an infinity pool, it offers breathtaking panoramic ocean views, making the scenery truly spectacular.

During the day, it feels like the pool merges seamlessly with the ocean, and in the evening, it provides an absolutely incredible backdrop for those famous Kota Kinabalu sunsets. There are plenty of sunbeds and shaded areas around the pool, so you can relax and keep your skin protected.

The pool operates from 7 AM to 9 PM, giving you ample time to enjoy a refreshing morning swim or soak in the mesmerizing evening sunset views.

Final Thoughts on Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu

For my Kota Kinabalu trip, the Hyatt Centric truly hit the sweet spot with its unbeatable combination of **location, facilities, and value for money**. You'll find great restaurants nearby, even a Subway, plus an amazing hotel pool, and a fantastic sunset viewing spot right on the rooftop.

This hotel was an absolute delight, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
