Adorable Monkeys of the Mangrove Forest

Upon arrival at the jetty, we enjoyed some light local refreshments before donning our life vests and boarding the mangrove boat.

The boat ventured deeper and deeper into the enchanting mangrove forest.

As we navigated further into the forest, we encountered groups of monkeys gathered among the tree branches.

There were so many monkeys, and it was fascinating to watch them, especially when they started climbing onto our boat! 😯😯😯

If you hold out bananas or watermelon provided by the staff, the monkeys will approach the boat railings. Both kids and adults absolutely loved this interaction! Haha.

There was even a mother and baby monkey. When I took a picture of the adorable baby, the mother, with her gentle smile, was captured right alongside! 🤣

They were incredibly gentle and unafraid of people, making it a truly delightful experience to observe them up close.

Bongawan Beach Sunset: Your Perfect Photo Opportunity

After our monkey adventure, the boat headed towards a private beach connected to the open sea.

Here, we were treated to the highlight of Kota Kinabalu: one of the world's top three sunsets.

We had ample time to disembark and capture countless once-in-a-lifetime photos.

The sky and sea, painted in shades of orange, pink, and purple, left me utterly speechless throughout the entire spectacle.

Our guides were incredibly dedicated, helping us capture stunning silhouette jump shots, heart poses, and more, ensuring we had photos to cherish forever!

They took so many pictures, and I ended up with a ton of amazing shots! ✌️

Even though these photos were taken with a cell phone camera, the Kota Kinabalu sunset was truly breathtakingly beautiful.

Fireflies Adorning the Night Sky

After enjoying the sunset and a brief rest, as dusk truly settles, the main event of the tour begins: firefly watching.

With all the boat lights off, we glided into the dark forest, and our guide began to call the fireflies with a special light.

Suddenly, the dark mangrove trees lit up with twinkling fireflies, and they started flying into the boat! It was a truly fantastical sight, like a Christmas tree coming to life with thousands of tiny lights!!! 🌟🌟

Watching the fireflies gently land on your palm before fluttering away feels like stepping into a dream.

This is one of those moments that no photo or video can truly capture its magic 😭

You absolutely have to see it with your own eyes to appreciate its beauty, so make sure to experience it for yourself!
