The Hyatt Centric was our choice for the last night of our Kota Kinabalu trip💚

With lush mountain views from our room, an ocean-view infinity pool, and even a delicious breakfast, this hotel truly impressed us.

We spent the first three nights at a budget-friendly hotel,

and decided to relax at a hotel with excellent facilities for the last night.

That's how we chose the Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu!

From the rooms to the pool, sky bar, and breakfast,

I'll be sharing my firsthand review.

1. Kota Kinabalu Accommodation Recommendations

When choosing accommodation in Kota Kinabalu, the most important factors for me were

room condition, value for money, and location.

The Hyatt Centric, opened in 2022,

is relatively new and overall very clean,

and I loved that you could enjoy different views

from both the rooms and the pool!

The location was also fantastic.

It's located right opposite Suria Sabah shopping mall,

and Jesselton Point Jetty is just about a 5-minute walk away,

making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing.

If you're looking for recommendations on where to stay in Kota Kinabalu,

this place should definitely be on your shortlist!!!🙌🏻

Luggage storage was available before check-in,

and the 1st floor lounge had a cafe and sofa seating,

making it a great spot to relax for a bit.

2. Booking and Pricing for Kota Kinabalu Accommodation

For the Hyatt Centric with breakfast included,

it's a great hotel if you're looking for a price range of around ~$150 to ~$190 per night.

I booked in advance during the off-season,

and got it for a great deal, around ~$140 to ~$150 per night, including breakfast!

Prices vary depending on the dates and room type,

so if your travel dates are set,

I recommend checking the prices in advance!

3. Room Condition | Lush Mountain Views

Our assigned room was on the 20th floor.

Score! I arrived a bit early, and they assigned me a high-floor room!!

Right next to the bed, there was a handy table and chair,

and right next to that, my very own terrace.

Being on a higher floor meant fantastic open views,

and I was particularly captivated by the mountain view outside my window.

Inside the room, a roomy double bed and a table awaited,

creating a wonderfully modern and pristine vibe throughout.

And the amenities, from the comfy slippers to the cozy robes, were all in excellent shape!

Bonus: there's a complimentary coffee machine with capsules ready,

perfect for unwinding with a fresh brew right in your room.

Just a heads-up: the tea, snacks, and drinks you'll find in the fridge and drawers

are part of the paid mini-bar, so make sure to check the prices before you indulge~!!

And let me tell you, the bathroom was absolutely delightful!

The sink, shower, and toilet areas were all thoughtfully separated,

and what impressed me most was how absolutely spotless everything was.

Truly felt like a top-tier 5-star hotel experience!

Haha.

4. Facilities | Infinity Pool, Sky Bar, & Breakfast

My absolute favorite spot at the Hyatt Centric was, without a doubt,

the incredible 23rd-floor infinity pool.

From one side of the pool, you're treated to a stunning mountain view,

while the other side offers a breathtaking, expansive ocean vista.

Maybe it was because everyone else had headed out to the ocean, haha!

There were actually fewer people using it than I expected~!

From my room, I got to enjoy lush green views,

and by the pool, I could revel in the ocean views – it was perfect!

Especially as the day drew to a close, being able to witness the stunning sunset was truly magical,

making the experience even more satisfying.

If you're dreaming of enjoying a beautiful sunset in Kota Kinabalu,

alongside a fantastic pool, this is definitely the place I'd recommend!!

I didn't actually use the gym, but the view was so spectacular that I just had to snap a few photos!

In the evening, I also made my way to the ON23 Sky Bar on the 23rd floor.

It was wonderful to relax with a beer while enjoying the live music,

and the ambiance totally won me over.

The food was pretty delicious too!

It was so satisfying to unwind with a relaxed evening without having to venture out of the hotel again after a day of sightseeing.

The next morning, before checking out, I had breakfast

at the ON22 Restaurant on the 22nd floor.

The variety of food was impressive, and the overall quality was fantastic.

Not having to search for a restaurant first thing in the morning

and instead enjoying a comfortable meal right at the hotel

made me realize that booking with breakfast included was definitely a smart move.

The fact that you could also order cooked dishes from the menu meant

the quality for the price was absolutely incredible!

Completely satisfied, especially after indulging in the desserts – pure bliss! 🫶
