Discover the best souvenirs to buy at King Kong Mart in Duong Dong, Phu Quoc, including the famous Chou Chou Peanuts and local spa recommendations.
After exploring Grand World, we headed over to Duong Dong town center.
Time for some shopping at Phu Quoc's famous KING KONG Mart! 🛍️
Here’s another King Kong Mart we stopped by before heading to the Safari.
This location had a cute cafe out front and felt super relaxed and peaceful.
Since it was so hot and we had some free time between Grand World and shopping,
we decided to squeeze in another massage!
We ended up going to Ocean Spa, which was right across the street.
To be honest, Spa The L had way better facilities (super clean, smelled amazing),
but this place had okay facilities while offering much stronger, deeply relieving pressure.
This is the absolute go-to spot for tourists and is basically considered
the main hub for souvenir shopping on the island.
Thanks to our driver's recommendation, we had a smooth and easy visit.
It was much bigger than I expected, and bustling with people!
Phu Quoc King Kong Mart Souvenir Recommendation: ChouChou Peanuts
These are the famous Phu Quoc peanuts that you'll see everywhere!
The clean packaging with the little star was so cute,
so I grabbed a few packs to hand out to friends back home.
The brand featuring the friendly, smiling face of
the French founder is also incredibly popular.
(Fun fact: It was started by a French husband and Vietnamese wife!)
They have these adorable, compact sizes that make perfect little gifts,
which I absolutely loved.
You can find dried mango easily back home, but dried mangoes here are still a must-buy!
One of my students is absolutely obsessed with dried mango,
so I made sure to stock up on a pack for them.
The one pictured above is super popular—even though it's a bit on the pricier side, it has a wonderfully natural flavor without any artificial taste.
Another great find was the mango jelly!
I bought these intending to divide them up as gifts, but I ended up eating most of them myself... They have just the right amount of sweetness and are so delicious!
You definitely have to try at least one! 🥭🥭
While Phu Quoc isn't exactly famous for chocolate, I picked some up
as a gift for a little one who loves sweets. It was actually a bit pricier than I expected, though! 🍫
The packaging is beautiful, though! Haha. Not a must-buy, but a nice treat!
As you walk around, all the different colorful snacks will definitely catch your eye.
This is Bánh Sữa (Milk Crackers), a signature Phu Quoc snack.
They have a rich condensed milk and milk powder flavor with a wonderfully savory, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
(Hot take) Honestly... Korean rice crackers are still better! 🇰🇷
The yellow cheese crackers are also really famous, but I skipped them because I'm not a huge fan of cheese flavors.
Still, they're super popular and lots of people buy them!
I was rushing to pick things out, so for a second, I thought these were chocolates! ^^;
But turns out, they were 100% real macadamias!
They even come with a little shell-cracking tool inside! If you love macadamias, I highly recommend these for that rich, nutty, and healthy crunch!
I also spotted these salted roasted pistachios and snapped a photo because they looked interesting.
With pistachio treats being so trendy back home right now,
I bet quite a few people will be stocking up on these!
I also grabbed a vacuum-sealed pack of budget-friendly garlic peanuts
as a little gift for my family.
I also tried these nutty coconut snacks,
but they're not as sweet as you'd think.
They actually taste quite wholesome and healthy.
This snack was also moderately sweet and really delicious.
Each pack has several individually wrapped pieces, so if you're curious, definitely grab one to try!
Phu Quoc King Kong Mart Shopping List & Souvenir Recommendations
There's such a wide variety of seasonings here—
anyone who loves to cook will absolutely adore this section!
I bought the pepper on the right, and grinding it fresh into my dishes
has been great. It does have a slight hint of exotic local spices, though!
My go-to Colgate toothpaste
was much cheaper than back home, and they even had handy travel sizes,
so I stocked up on a few. They have a lemon flavor too, but honestly, you can't beat the classic Cool Mint haha.
If you need any toiletries for your trip, definitely check out this aisle!
I didn't actually do too much shopping on this trip ^^; Peanuts made up almost my entire haul.
It's a bit tough to find really cute knick-knacks or plushies in Vietnam,
so I ended up picking up a few more items at the Night Market instead.
And here's how much it all came to~~~
1,853,000 VND (approx. ~$64)
The area right in front of King Kong Mart was incredibly chaotic,
but as soon as we finished shopping, we met up with our waiting driver and headed straight to the Night Market in comfort. 🛍️ 🚙

At the night market, I also picked up some cute magnets, a turtle-shaped tape measure,
and some adorable little dolls wearing hats.
King Kong Mart was perfect for buying souvenirs in bulk all at once, while the night market was so much fun to just wander around and explore. (Review coming soon!)
Especially at the night market, they roast ChouChou peanuts right on the spot and hand out samples like crazy. The competition among sellers is fierce, so I ended up walking around with hands full of peanuts!
And they are so delicious! 🥜
If you're only planning to buy peanuts, they're actually a bit cheaper at the night market,
so buying them there is a great option. Either way, my quick and efficient sweep of King Kong Mart was a success! 🛍️
That's it for my fun shopping review, where I found literally everything I needed!

The product consists of 100% macadamia nuts and comes with a tool included inside to easily crack the hard shells. It is a perfect snack for those who prefer a savory and healthy taste.
Banh Sua milk snacks feature a savory flavor created by the combination of condensed milk and powdered milk. However, the author of the article personally felt that Korean rice snacks taste better.
