Green Inn Kaohsiung Review 2026: Formosa Boulevard Gem for Budget Travelers?

With Southeast Asia getting pricier and Japan becoming a common choice,

it seems like many of you looking for a different destination

are discovering Kaohsiung, Taiwan these days.

Since it's an unfamiliar place, when you're looking for a hotel in Kaohsiung,

you might often wonder: Is it better to stay in the city center,

or closer to a night market?

What's more, many hotels in Kaohsiung are either too expensive

or have outdated interiors,

making it really tough to choose the right place to stay 😐

After an extensive search, I finally found a place that nails location, cleanliness, and value for money!

This is my review of Green Inn Kaohsiung :>

1. Kaohsiung Accommodation Location: Right by Formosa Boulevard Station Exit 11

When you're searching for accommodation for an international trip, your top priority

is probably location, right?

Green Inn Kaohsiung is located right in what could be called the heart of Kaohsiung.

You can reach it in just 1-2 minutes on foot from Formosa Boulevard Station Exit 11.

*If you have luggage, it's better to use

Exit 1, which has an escalator.

And Liuhe Night Market is also right nearby,

making it the perfect spot to eat and explore late into the night :>

First off, Formosa Boulevard Station is an interchange for two subway lines,

meaning you can easily reach major tourist spots like Pier-2 Art Center and Sizihwan,

and even go straight to the airport!!!

Green Inn Kaohsiung isn't on the main road, but nestled at the entrance of an alley.

It operates on a self-check-in system,

so you'll need to contact the host in advance via Line or WeChat

to receive your entry details and check in.

Even at night, there are plenty of streetlights, so it never feels dark.

This makes it a highly recommended place to stay, especially for solo female travelers exploring Kaohsiung.

Given its excellent value, it seems weekend reservations tend to fill up fast.

2. Spacious Rooms and Tidy Interior

As soon as I stepped into my assigned room,

the sense of comfort from the wooden floor and pristine white bedding was immediate 😌

Best of all, the room was incredibly spacious,

with a separate sofa and table right by the bed,

meaning I could spread out all my luggage without a worry.

With Liuhe Night Market literally next door,

it was incredibly convenient to bring back all sorts of takeout and feast right in the room ㅎ_ㅎ

I visited in winter,

but even then, Kaohsiung's temperatures typically range from a low of around 15°C (59°F) to a high of 24°C (75°F).

So yes, I still had the air conditioning on in the room 🤣

Since Kaohsiung is a coastal city, it's naturally quite humid.

However, each room had a dehumidifier,

which made it super easy to keep the humidity levels comfortable!

One thing to note is that there isn't a refrigerator inside the room,

which makes storing things like drinks a bit challenging.

However, there was a communal refrigerator available in the hallway.

Just a heads-up, I stayed in an Executive Suite,

so my room was particularly spacious 🤣

3. Greenin Kaohsiung: Bathrooms and Facilities

And of course, after the room itself, the bathroom is definitely the next most important thing at any stay!

Just like the spacious room, the bathroom was also quite roomy.

The shower, sink, and toilet were all neatly arranged side-by-side,

creating such a spacious feeling! ★

There was no bathtub, only a shower stall,

but the water pressure was excellent, which was a huge plus.

There were no individual disposable amenities provided,

just hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

A slight drain smell did waft up at times,

but this was also the case in other Kaohsiung hotels I've stayed in,

so I figured it might just be a city-specific thing in Kaohsiung. 🤣🤣🤣

This is the shared refrigerator in the hallway that I mentioned earlier.

You can also separate your recycling in the bins located in the hallway.

4. Greenin Kaohsiung Hotel: Who Is It For?

To sum it up,

if you're a pedestrian traveler looking for a budget-friendly hotel with great value,

I wholeheartedly recommend Greenin Kaohsiung! ⭐

In early December on weekdays, it was around ~$45,

if two people split it, that's less than ~$23 per person! *.*

Since each hotel booking platform often has

different discount events going on at any given time,

I recommend comparing prices before booking.

with an extra discount, you can book it for ~$38.
