Autumn is just around two months away,
and with it, the beautiful fall foliage season will begin.
Many of you are probably planning trips to Osaka to enjoy the autumn leaves during this season, right?
However, since airfare can be pricey during this time,
we need to find other ways to save on expenses.

Today, I'll introduce you to an essential item that will help you enjoy your Osaka trip to the fullest while significantly cutting down on costs:
the Kansai Joy Pass, and even show you how to book it with a 50% discount!
First, for those who aren't familiar with the Kansai Joy Pass,
let me give you a quick rundown.

The Kansai Joy Pass is a special pass that allows you to enjoy popular tourist attractions, transportation, and activities in the Kansai region (including Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Shiga, and Wakayama) at a discounted price.
While there are many neighboring areas around Osaka, you can honestly get more than your money's worth even if you only use the pass within Osaka!

What's more, you don't have to worry about an expiry date, as it's valid for 270 days from the purchase date.
And once you activate it, you have 7 days to use it according to your personal travel schedule, so there's no time pressure!

There are two types of passes: '3 Attractions' and '6 Attractions'.
❗️Right now, the '3 Attractions' pass is on a 50% discount promotion!
This means you can enjoy three of Kansai's most popular attractions for just ~$14!
You can get your Joy Pass with a discount via the link below!

Just a heads-up, there's no official end date for this discount promotion yet.
Since you have 270 days to use it after purchase, I highly recommend grabbing it now!
Next up, I'll organize a list of must-visit spots in Osaka city where you can use your Kansai Joy Pass.
Please note that I've curated this list to include only the most popular and easily accessible places for tourists.

Category | Attraction/Venue | Notes |
Experiences | Solaniwa Onsen, Osaka Castle Gozabune Boat | Additional charges may apply for Solaniwa Onsen depending on the visit date |
Landmarks | Wonder Cruise, Harukas 300 Observatory, Umeda Sky Building, River Cruise | Umeda Sky Building allows entry until 5 PM |
Transportation | INNN Kansai Airport Shuttle | Drop-offs only available at Umeda, Nippombashi, Shin-Imamiya |
Dining | Shinsekai Kushikatsu Meiten Kotetsu, Haidilao Namba branch, etc. | 1,000 JPY discount coupon |
Shopping | Bic Camera Namba, Tennoji MIO, LUCUA Osaka, etc. | 1,000-1,500 JPY coupon |
Of course, there are many other places where you can use the Joy Pass, such as Legoland or the Santa Maria Cruise.
However, the spots I've highlighted above offer excellent accessibility and the best value for money, allowing you to truly make the most of your Kansai Joy Pass.

For instance, the Kansai Joy Pass costs ~$14, while Soraniwa Onsen is 2,310 yen to 2,600 yen, and Wonder Cruise, Harukas, the Floating Garden Observatory, and River Cruise all have a regular price of 2,000 yen each.

Even the INNN Airport Shuttle has a regular price that reaches up to 2,700 yen.
This means that if you book the Kansai Joy Pass and use just one of these facilities, you've already gotten your money's worth!

What's more, personally, since this pass only needs to be used within a week, it's a better fit for those who prefer a more leisurely travel style rather than those looking to cram in lots of Osaka city attractions in a short, intense burst.
Therefore, I think it can be used even more efficiently if you're traveling with children or your parents!
I've recently traveled to Osaka twice, and I used the Joy Pass both times.
After experiencing it firsthand and using it myself, I'd love to share three places I personally highly recommend for using the pass.
1. INNN Airport Pick-Up Service
My first recommended use is the INNN Airport Pick-Up service.

When you're making your way from Kansai Airport into the city center, people usually take the Nankai Rapi:t or Haruka trains. However, the recently launched shared airport pick-up service, INNN, is also definitely worth trying.
While its regular price is around 2,700 yen, you can currently use it for just ~$5 with the Joy Pass.

You don't need to make a separate reservation; just head to the airport counter, present your Joy Pass QR code, and the staff will guide you through the next steps.

With the pass, you can be dropped off at Hotel Zipangu in Shin-Imamiya, 'Ginza Diamond Shiraishi Osaka' in Umeda, or in front of Onyado Nono Hotel in Nipponbashi.
It's incredibly cost-effective and minimizes walking, making your journey to the city center super convenient – definitely give it a try!
2. Harukas 300 Observatory
My second recommended spot is Harukas 300.

Many visitors to Osaka use passes like the Osaka Amazing Pass or e-Pass, but entry to the Harukas Observatory is exclusively available with the Kansai Joy Pass!
What's more, unlike the Umeda Floating Garden, where entry with a pass is not possible at night, Harukas allows night entry!

You can gaze out at Osaka's spectacular night view, stretching sparklingly to the horizon.
Although the regular admission fee here is also 2,000 yen, with the pass, it's like getting it for just ~$5!
3. River Cruise or Wonder Cruise

And for my third recommendation, it's the Dotonbori River Cruise.
There are two types: the River Cruise and the Wonder Cruise, and both are available for use with the pass.

This approximately 20-minute cruise takes you on a delightful loop around the Dotonbori River.
It's truly the perfect attraction to soak in Dotonbori's dazzling scenery while enjoying a refreshing river breeze.

Just like the other attractions, you can enjoy this cruise both during the day and at night.
However, Dotonbori's dazzling night views are truly something else, so I highly recommend taking the cruise in the evening if you can!
(Just a heads-up: night cruises are super popular, so it's a good idea to book your spot in advance!)
The standard fare for the cruise is 2,000 yen, which can be a bit pricey on its own. So, make sure to use your pass to enjoy this experience affordably!

So, today we've taken a deep dive into the Kansai Joy Pass, your ultimate tool for saving big on your Osaka adventure!
❗️And guess what? It's currently offering a whopping 50% discount! This means you can enjoy incredible attractions that would normally cost up to 2,000 yen for just around ~$5!
What's more, the flexibility of using it within 7 days of activation means you don't have to cram your itinerary, which I think is a huge plus for any explorer!
You can grab your discounted Kansai Joy Pass right here, below! And seriously, don't wait — these promotions can disappear without warning, so booking ahead is always a smart move!
The '3 Attractions' Kansai Joy Pass is currently on a 50% discount promotion and can be used for just ~$14. With this pass, you can enjoy three famous attractions in Kansai at an affordable price.
The INNN Airport Shuttle can drop you off in front of Hotel Zipang in Shin-Imamiya, 'Ginza Diamond Shiraishi Osaka Store' in Umeda, and Onyado Nono Hotel in Nipponbashi. You can use the Joy Pass for this shuttle, which is typically priced around JPY 2,700, for ~$5.
Entry to Harukas 300 Observatory is not possible with passes like the Osaka Amazing Pass or e-Pass; it is only available with the Kansai Joy Pass. Unlike the Umeda Sky Building, Harukas also allows night entry, so you can enjoy Osaka's magnificent night view.
The Kansai Joy Pass must be used within 270 days of purchase. Additionally, after its first activation, it can be freely used for 7 days according to your personal travel itinerary, which means less time pressure.
