1. How to Get to Kamakura from Tokyo
I hopped on the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line from Shinjuku and made my way straight to Fujisawa Station.
It's a direct route with no transfers, which makes it an absolute winner for busy travelers like us!
The Enoden Pass
The moment I arrived at Fujisawa Station, I grabbed my Enoden Pass – my trusty companion for the day – and officially kicked off my adventure!
There are two main types of Enoden trains you'll spot:
The green one on the left is the classic, older version,
While the purple one on the right is the sleek, newer version!
2. Enoden Pass Recommended Route: Iconic Photo Spots!
Isatong, Slam Dunk, Transit Love 4
The moment I got my pass, I wasted no time and set off!
Here's the itinerary I followed, guaranteed to get you some truly 'Instagram-worthy' shots.
📍 Shonan Coastal Park
When the weather is clear at Shonan Coastal Park,
you can even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji!
It was a bit cloudy on the day I visited, so it appeared faintly in the distance~
📍 Kamakura-kokomae (Slam Dunk)
This is THAT iconic spot from the 'Slam Dunk' opening!
Snapping a photo as the train rolls by is an absolute must-do here! 🏀
📍 Shichirigahama Beach
It's a place where just walking while looking at the open sea is incredibly healing.
📍 Gokurakuji Station & 'Is This Love Translated?' (Isatong) Filming Location
Experience the exact same vibe from the drama 'Is This Love Translated?' (Isatong) at Gokurakuji Station, and even see the barbershop building from the show!
This is Gokurakuji Station.
The beautiful, atmospheric station where Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung passed by.
Honestly, I came to Kamakura just for this scene!
📌Tip: Important Note
The barbershop owner (an elderly gentleman) doesn't really like his building being photographed, so try to take pictures subtly... haha.
The reason I went to Kamakura was
to find my Kim Seon-ho from 'Is This Love Translated?'.
But instead of Kim Seon-ho... I ended up befriending a Japanese gentleman and he took some lovely photos for me, haha!
There are even tours that only visit drama filming locations like these!

That day, I walked an incredible amount and my energy levels hit rock bottom...
If stamina is an issue, definitely go with a tour!

It's a stairway path with a view of the beach!
🌸 My Discovered Cherry Blossom Spot 🌸
I asked a Japanese gentleman to take my picture,
but honestly, I thought he might not get a good shot, so I just filmed it as a video and then grabbed a still!
What do you think? Isn't the cherry blossoms and ocean view here truly beautiful?
The Japanese gentleman told me that this wasn't originally a famous cherry blossom spot,
and he even thought people discovered it thanks to me~
The walking course, passing through Jojuin and Goryo Shrine all the way to Hasedera,
was tranquility itself.
📍 Goryo Shrine & Hasedera Temple
Goryo Shrine and Hasedera Temple are close to each other.
I think I captured this video really well, haha!
Hase-dera Temple has an entrance fee.
400 yen
It's worth every yen, as there's so much more to see than you might expect!
Here too, cherry blossoms and the temple make for perfect photo ops!
As you walk up the ocean-view path,
you'll see houses and the sea spread out before you~
There are also beautiful traditional Japanese houses and even a cave inside,
so I highly recommend checking it out~
📍 Dankazura & Yukinoshita
Did you know there's a cherry blossom tunnel in Kamakura?
I visited the Dankazura cherry blossom tunnel!
If you walk straight along the path adorned with cherry blossoms,
you'll arrive at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Yukinoshita~
The gardens are beautifully designed!
It was cherry blossom season, so the cherry blossom path at Dankazura was truly fantastic. 🌸
I followed my saved route, traveling in a U-shape from Fujisawa Station all the way to Kamakura Station (Dankazura)!
The Enoden Pass costs 800 yen, but I bet nobody gets more bang for their buck than I did!
I hopped on and off at over 7 stations, haha!
Isn't that amazing?!
3. Kamakura Restaurant List
You can't have a trip without delicious food, right?
Here are two restaurants that were huge successes on this trip.
Lunch - Yoridocoro
A scenic restaurant with a train track right in front of you!
Enjoying a grilled fish set meal while watching the Enoden train pass by outside the window
is an unforgettable experience.
And the egg meringue is absolutely incredible!!
Cafe - Mushian
🎬 This place, which was the motif for several works like 'Our Little Sister', offers a rare sight: the Enoden train passing right in front of its main gate.
Enjoying a traditional Japanese dessert called 'Anmitsu' in a century-old traditional house
is sure to melt away all your travel fatigue.🍵
Dinner - Tsukui
It's a famous okonomiyaki spot, known as a filming location for Transit Love 4.
Even though I went by myself, the owner
welcomed me so warmly, which made my meal even more special!
I thought it might be expensive since it was a Transit Love filming location, but
the prices here are incredibly reasonable!
It seemed like only locals were there~
I had a hearty meal before heading back to Shinjuku, and both the atmosphere and the taste were absolutely superb.
4. A Tricky Route: When Should You Visit Enoshima SeaCandle?
Honestly, I had planned to go see the Enoshima SeaCandle night view in the evening, but
when I actually looked into it, it seemed like it would take far too long.
If I were to go again, I think I'd choose to enjoy the panoramic blue ocean views during the day rather than the night view!
Definitely keep this in mind when planning your itinerary!
As someone who really made the most of their Enoden Pass,
I almost feel like skipping the SeaCandle was a stroke of genius!
That's because Enoshima Island is quite mountainous, and
I heard there's quite a bit of uphill walking involved!
I had already walked so much that I just didn't think I'd make it all the way up! LOL
