01. Why We Chose This 5-Star Auckland Hotel

Since we arrived on the very day we departed for our wedding,

we absolutely wanted to relax in the best possible place.

The hotel is nestled right in the heart of Auckland's CBD,

on Albert Street.

Its accessibility to major attractions like Queen Street, Sky Tower, and Viaduct Harbour

is truly exceptional.

This property was originally the Stamford Plaza Hotel,

and after a full renovation in late 2022,

it was reborn as the JW Marriott Auckland.

With ongoing phased renovations completed by late 2024,

the overall facilities were incredibly pristine.

Upon receiving our welcome drink at reception,

we immediately felt the warm, signature service of the brand.

02. Room Showcase: <Junior Suite Tower View>

We originally booked a Deluxe Room, but luck was on our side!

Thanks to my Marriott Platinum status benefits,

we received an upgrade to a Junior Suite with a Tower View!

Stepping into the room, we were immediately greeted by a spacious king bed, a stylish table,

and a wonderfully comfortable sofa.

The bedding felt like a warm embrace,

washing away the fatigue of our long flight and granting us truly blissful sleep...

We particularly loved the in-room lounge area.

With the tower view magnificently unfolding outside our window,

we could fully soak in the views right from our room.

As night fell, the illuminated Sky Tower

came into full view, making the atmosphere even more romantic!!

The bathroom is wonderfully designed, with a separate shower, bathtub, and toilet for

maximum comfort.

You'll find all the essential amenities well-stocked, including

bathrobes, slippers, a safe, and a laundry bag.

Nespresso capsules and an assortment of tea bags are on hand,

and the minibar is brimming with a variety of refreshing drinks and spirits.

Just a friendly heads-up: taking certain minibar items, the in-room dolls,

or reusable tumblers will incur a charge! So choose wisely!

03. Facilities & Unforgettable Experiences

<Happy Hour & Honeymoon Surprise>

During my visit, 4 PM to 6 PM was dedicated to their fantastic

Happy Hour, offering complimentary alcoholic beverages.

The bar was bustling and full, which was a slight bummer,

but we simply brought our drinks back to the room and created our own private lounge,

enjoying them intimately while admiring the Auckland Tower views.

What truly sticks in my mind, though, is what happened when we returned to our room that evening.

I subtly mentioned during check-in that we were here for our New Zealand honeymoon,

and to my absolute delight, we returned to find a beautiful cake and a heartfelt letter in our room..!

It was a truly unexpected and incredibly touching surprise.

The beautiful plating, paired with a thoughtful handwritten letter,

truly conveyed a sense of genuine care.

We picked up a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir from a nearby market

and savored it with the delicious sweet cake.

Feeling so wonderfully pampered right from the very first day of our honeymoon

made us absolutely ecstatic..🧡

I truly believe choosing JW Marriott as our initial honeymoon stay

was an excellent decision. Five-star luxury, indeed..!
