Jenny Bakery Hong Kong Guide 2026: Tips & Prices
Planning a trip to Jenny Bakery in Hong Kong? Read our 2026 guide on avoiding lines, menu prices, cash-only rules, and how to snag the coveted macadamia crisps.
If you are planning a trip to Hong Kong, there is one souvenir you absolutely cannot leave without: the legendary Jenny Bakery butter cookies!
Some locals joke that these cookies used to be even more famous globally than BLACKPINK's Jennie.
📍 Jenny Bakery (Sheung Wan Branch)
G/F, 15 Wing Wo St, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
Open Daily: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Jenny Bakery has two primary locations in Hong Kong: Tsim Sha Tsui and Sheung Wan.
Because they are incredibly popular with tourists (though locals rarely join the queue), you should expect a crowd at both. However, the Sheung Wan branch is generally known to be slightly less chaotic.

The moment you turn into the narrow alleyway, you will see a long line. That is your queue.
But here is a major insider tip: if there is no line at all, do not celebrate just yet!
A non-existent queue usually means their ultra-popular Macadamia Cocoa Crisps are already sold out for the day. Have one person from your group check inside the shop first before you get in line.

Make sure to check the available menu items, purchase limits, and prices before it is your turn to order.
When you face the cashier, the ordering process is fast-paced—almost like ordering at a busy Subway. You need to state the menu number and the quantity you want immediately.
If you hesitate, you will hold up the entire line and feel the pressure!

Important: Cash Only!
It is wild that a world-famous bakery with this much daily volume still only accepts cash, but that is the rule. Make sure you visit an ATM before joining the line.
Despite the strict cash-only policy, people will literally borrow money from strangers in line just to buy these cookies.
Among the options, No. 3 (Macadamia Cocoa Crisps) is by far the most popular. The classic steady-sellers are No. 11 (4-Mix Butter Cookies) and No. 12 (2-Mix Butter Cookies).
To be completely honest, unless you are buying the Macadamia Cocoa Crisps, carrying multiple heavy tin cans back home might not be worth the effort.
The metal tins are bulky, heavy, and you will constantly worry about them denting or the cookies crumbling in your checked luggage.
For the standard butter cookies, you can often find them on global import sites online for around ~$29. The price difference is not massive when you factor in luggage space and physical effort.

Also, beware of unauthorized street vendors nearby. Many sell fake Jenny Bakery cookies in similar bear-themed tins at highly inflated prices.
Always purchase directly from the official store to ensure you are getting the real deal.

On this visit, No. 3 did not have a "Sold Out" sticker, which meant it was available! However, the Macadamia Cocoa Crisps are strictly limited to 1 tin per person.
If you are traveling with friends who do not want any, make sure they stand in line with you anyway so you can buy an extra tin under their limit!

When we visited again on the second day, the Macadamia cookies were already completely sold out. Go early if you want to secure them!
Remember: Cash only, and shopping bags cost 1 HKD (around $0.13) each. Bringing your own reusable tote bag is highly recommended!

The Verdict on Macadamia Cocoa Crisps:
They are absolutely incredible! The cocoa flavor is rich and premium without being overly sweet. The macadamia nuts are perfectly crunchy, and the texture is wonderfully crisp.
If you see them in stock, buy them immediately!
Frequently Asked Questions
What payment methods are accepted when buying cookies at Jenny Bakery in Hong Kong?
The store only accepts cash. Also, plastic bags cost an additional 1 HKD, so we recommend bringing your own eco-bag.
How many of the popular No. 3 Macadamia cookies can I buy at Jenny Bakery?
You can only purchase one No. 3 Macadamia cookie per person. If there is no line in front of the store, it is highly likely that the Macadamia cookies are sold out, so it's a good idea for one person in your group to check inside the store first.
