What to Do on Jebudo?

I recently took a 1-night, 2-day trip to Jebudo, a place I had only ever driven through before.
To my surprise, it's really worth visiting, with so much to enjoy!
The most memorable spot for me was the Seohaerang Marine Cable Car.
Within Jebudo, I took an electric cart for a spin around the island, and it was wonderful with the cool breeze and plenty of sights to see.

It's a place you can easily visit even for a day trip, making it a great course for families with kids, parents, or couples.
What's more, the standard cabins on the cable car are pet-friendly, making it a perfect spot for an autumn outing with the whole family! 💗
Now, let's dive into my review! 😊

Seohaerang Marine Cable Car |
The Seohaerang Marine Cable Car connects Jeongok Port and Jebudo Island, spanning 2.12km over the sea.
There are two types of cabins: Standard and Crystal. The ride takes about 10-15 minutes.
Tickets can be purchased on-site, or you can book them in advance through Naver, NOL, and MyRealTrip.
On-site purchase and official website regular prices are as follows:
Category | Adult | Child |
Standard Cabin Round-trip | ~$16 | ~$13 |
Standard Cabin One-way | ~$14 | ~$12 |
Crystal Cabin Round-trip | ~$18 | ~$15 |
Crystal Cabin One-way | ~$15 | ~$12 |
However, you can book tickets 30-40% cheaper on Naver!
The price difference is quite significant, so it's definitely advantageous to book in advance on Naver!
Please note that tickets purchased online can only be used starting 1 hour after purchase.

If you're looking for even more activities on Jebudo, a package deal might be a great option.
A package combining cable car tickets + The Trick Island Outdoor Escape Room also has excellent reviews.

Crystal Cabin Ride Review |
We opted for the Crystal Cabin, and let me tell you, with its transparent floor, you get an unobstructed view of the vast tidal flats below and the birds soaring above them!
When I first rode it around 4 PM, the vast mudflats were widely exposed, and the winding waterways, wind turbines, and even the coastal road leading to Jebudo Island were visible at a glance.

As I got closer to Jeongok Port, I could see the tide slowly coming in, and yachts in the marina too.

After spending some time at Jeongok Port, I took the cable car back to Jebudo Island around 6 PM.

If I had ridden at 6:30 PM, the last boarding time, the sky would probably have been even more orange.

While riding around 4 PM offered the fun of looking down at the wide mudflats, the return trip was all about the stunning sunset and sparkling water.

Even the cable cars passing by in the opposite direction looked like silhouettes, creating such a wonderful atmosphere. 🌅
Attractions at the Stations |
The scenery from the cable car itself was romantic, but there was also so much to do both inside and outside the two stations.
Jeongok Station
Jeongok Port Station has spacious indoor and outdoor parking, and with a geological exploration trail and the Goreyamsan Dulle-gil (circular path), there were plenty of attractions nearby.

There's also a deck path stretching along the seaside, making it perfect for a stroll.

Inside, there were plenty of places to relax, including cafes, a convenience store, and coin-operated massage chairs.

There's also a large cafe on each floor. The cafes were boat-themed, which made exploring them quite fun.

It was lovely to enjoy coffee and cake while gazing at the sea before heading back.

Also, there were ice packs available at the ticket office, which you could return upon exiting,

Jebudo Terminal
The Jebudo Terminal was also very neat and offered plenty to see.

Especially on the 3rd floor, there's a self-service ramen corner and a relaxation area.
With floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the tidal flats and the sea, and decorated with flower arrangements, a white piano, and boatオブジェ, it's also a beautifully set up photo zone.

They also offered free parasol and umbrella rentals. I hadn't brought a parasol myself, but it even had a tourist map drawn on it, so it came in very handy! 👍

They also operate a free shuttle bus, so traveling without a car is no problem.
It travels around places like the ferry dock, the beach entrance, Jebudo Art Park, the amusement park, and Maebawi Square, so it would be great for those who've left their cars at Jeongok Port and want to explore Jebudo.

Instead of the free shuttle bus, we rented an electric cart that looked like a golf cart and went around the island, which was quite fun! haha
(~ $40 per hour)

We stayed overnight in Jebudo, so we did things in reverse, but for those planning a day trip, I recommend the following course:
📌 Recommended Jebudo Day Trip Course
Park at Jeongok Port Terminal
→ Seohaerang Marine Cable Car
→ Arrive at Jebudo
→ Go around the island by free shuttle bus, electric cart, or on foot
or
→ The Trick Island outdoor escape game
→ Take the cable car back to Jeongok Port, timed with the sunset
There are several companies for electric carts, but we rented ours from the one right in front of the cable car station.

Overall Review |
For places to visit and activities to enjoy in Jebudo, I highly recommend the Seohaerang Marine Cable Car and the electric carts.
Especially from the Crystal Cabin, you'll have the fun experience of looking down at the vast West Sea and tidal flats beneath your feet, and if you time it right, you can even catch the sunset.
If you're planning a trip or a drive to Jebudo, check the sunset time and give it a try! 😊
