A wonderful new bakery opened near Jichuk,
and every time I passed by, I'd hum "brunch, brunch, brunch!"
So finally, one Sunday morning in March, I got to visit!
Delicious bread and coffee, wait for me!
The exterior, with its warm wood and green sign, is totally my style.

A fabric displaying all the breads baked here hangs like a curtain,

Opening hours are from 9 AM to 7 PM,
but it seems they often close earlier if the bread sells out.
Freshly baked bread comes out starting at 9 AM.
I imagine the patissiers are up at dawn, kneading dough and preparing everything.
This bakery cafe specializes in European-style artisan breads,
made with organic flour and natural sourdough starter (levain).
All breads are baked and sold fresh daily,
with baguettes and pastries being their particular specialties.

A blackboard in front of the shop lists the breads available by time:
9:00 Croissant, Pain au Chocolat, Salt Bread, Myeongran Salt Bread,
Potato Salt Bread, Olive Stick, Butter Pretzel,
Croissant Sandwich, Cinnafin, Kaya Pretzel,
Egg Tart, Levain Cookie, Brownie, Lemon Pound Cake,
Chestnut Bread, Pastry Loaf, Milk Bread
9:30 Olive Cheese Ciabatta
10:00 Plain Baguette, Jambon Beurre,
Truffle Baguette, An-butter Baguette,
Potato Cream Cheese Baguette
11:30 (Second Batch) Salt Bread, Myeongran Salt Bread
Phew, praise me for listing all of that, even if it was a quick glance!

The scene that greets you the moment you step inside –
It's heaven!!! Honestly, I'm not a "bread-lover" per se,
but I absolutely adore the pairing of rich, nutty lattes with bread,
or warm Americanos with bread.
It's this kind of perfect "marriage" I truly appreciate.

*Please note: As these photos were taken previously, menu items and prices may be subject to change.
Just pick your bread, head to the counter, and order your coffee while checking out – then you're all set! You absolutely have to get a coffee.
Americano ~$3
Warm Cafe Latte ~$4
At the counter, they also sell olive balsamic sauce for ~$1 to enjoy with your bread,
and those adorable candles... are they for sale too?!

Potato Soup ~$5
Cookie Choux ~$2
The trap is, posting this late at night makes me want to eat absolutely everything!

The talented young patissiers were hard at work, baking up a storm!
Even as we paid, the spotless kitchen was in full view.

And just like that, our selection of three delicious breads and coffee arrived!
If you ask, they'll happily warm your bread in the oven.
(We actually dug in a bit first, then decided to ask for it to be warmed up).

Olive Ciabatta / Salt Bread / Kouign-amann

They even brought the coffee right to our table! How sweet is that?!
Just look at that gorgeous latte art!

My dear Yongbam waited patiently for me, a 'power blogger' at heart, to get my shots.
And yes, I even picked off a tiny pinch of salt from the salt bread to try it!
I was genuinely surprised by how delicious the coffee was!
If you're not a fan of acidic Americano,
J Story's Americano is absolutely perfect for you!!!

Look at that cheese perfectly tucked into the olive ciabatta!
Was it actually 'cheese olive ciabatta'? I'm scratching my head a bit here, haha!
Haha, this is precisely why I need to post my blogs immediately after visiting! Ugh!
My apologies, I'll only be a couple of days behind on my posts, promise!

Even if you only want a tiny bit warmed up, they'll do it for you.
Haha, I mentioned it mid-meal because I was craving some warm bread.
And they were so wonderfully accommodating and kind about it!
However, warming it did make the bread feel a tad chewier than before.
Before warming, it was deliciously springy! So, enjoy it however you like best!

The restroom key is on the charming, 'aesthetic' table right by the counter.
What made it extra cute was the keychain, shaped just like a real piece of bread!

Even the tissue holder is a fun bagel design – how clever!

While we were busy ordering and enjoying our treats, many of the breads had already sold out!
People were literally driving up and buying one of everything!
Watching the loaves fly off the shelves so quickly,
We promised ourselves that next time, we'd wake up at 9 AM to try the freshly baked bread!
Promise! (Though Yongbam's been on a business trip for two whole months now... come back soon!)

Ta-da!
All the weekend brunch-goers, just like us,
and the enthusiastic customers who had bought armfuls of bread for takeout, had all cleared out,
and the once bustling Jichuk Bakery J Story had become wonderfully quiet.
That's literally all the bread that was left!
This place is one of those bakeries that closes once all the bread is sold out,
so once those remaining loaves are gone, they coolly close up shop!

That window-side seat, looking out, seems like the absolute best spot in the house!
Okay, so the view is just of the road, but who cares when there's delicious bread!

The cafe interior, snapped belatedly after the crowd cleared out.
Warm and cozy lighting,
tables displaying all the delicious bread,
and about 4 window seats and three 4-person tables!

Since this place is famous for its bread, there's even a 'bread mirror' – so of course, I had to grab a solo selfie before heading out!
Next time, I'm heading there bright and early to snag some warm, freshly baked bread~!
I'll have to try some different varieties next time, beyond what I had today!
J-Site operates from Tuesday to Sunday, 9 AM to 7 PM. It is closed every Monday, and may close earlier if bread sells out.
Olive Cheese Ciabatta is available at 9:30 AM. At 10 AM, Plain Baguette, Jambon Beurre, Truffle Baguette, An Butter Baguette, and Potato Cream Cheese Baguette are available.
An Americano is ~$3, a Hot Cafe Latte is ~$3. Potato Soup is sold for ~$4.
Yes, if you request to have your bread warmed, it will be heated in an oven. However, please note that warmed bread might feel a bit chewier.
