Named Coffee Madu Branch Review 2026: Ilsan's Roastery Cafe Gem
Unexpectedly stumbled upon Named Coffee Madu in Ilsan's lively Bamridangil? This roastery cafe offers exceptional brews and a warm ambiance perfect for coffee lovers.

After indulging in a hearty lunch, what's the natural next step? A delightful coffee break, of course!
Honestly, when I planned my trip to Ilsan, there was *one* specific cafe I was absolutely set on visiting. I'd even bragged about it and double-checked their opening hours. But en route, my heart sank when I saw a sudden "closed today" notification. As a meticulous planner, finding myself without a Plan B was, shall we say, a bit frustrating.
That's when I serendipitously discovered Named Coffee's Madu branch in Ilsan's charming Bamridangil neighborhood.
"What's your name? What's your number?" This place might not have a catchy name, but it certainly has amazing coffee! Welcome to Named Coffee Madu.
With two locations in Ilsan – Jeongbalsan and Madu – it seems this cafe is steadily expanding its reach across the city.

This fantastic spot is a roastery cafe that first opened its doors in 2017!
While it doesn't share any direct connection with the old Named Espresso in Seongbuk-dong, the vibe here is distinctly stylish and inviting, which quickly convinced me to change my plans and give it a try.

The cafe's aesthetic beautifully blends industrial concrete walls with warm wooden tones, creating a surprisingly cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Named Coffee Menu & Prices

Their menu is extensive, featuring various blend coffees, hand-drips, seasonal drinks, signature concoctions, and a selection of non-coffee beverages. Plus, you get a small discount for takeout orders!
On weekends and public holidays, there's a two-hour limit on laptop and tablet use. Indeed, I noticed quite a few people quietly working away on their devices, making it a great spot for focused work.
While they offer tempting desserts like Basque cheesecake and egg tarts, my "dessert stomach" was temporarily closed after such a satisfying lunch. So, I opted for an Ethiopia Bentinenka Natural Filter coffee and their seasonal Orange Coffee. The Orange Coffee, made with freshly squeezed orange juice and a bright espresso shot, sounded intriguing and tasted delightful!🍊 ☕️
Named Coffee Ambiance & Offerings
The cafe was quite busy, so I couldn't capture the entire space, but here are some glimpses:

They also sell their roasted beans, which is a big plus for coffee enthusiasts.

It seems they also offer capsule coffee, which is convenient for home brewing.

Named Coffee has even been featured in magazines, highlighting its reputation.
I found myself wondering if they've upgraded their roaster capacity to 66 pounds (30 kg) to keep up with demand across their Madu and Jeongbalsan locations. Just a curious thought!😇

They also offer large-capacity roasted beans, which would be perfect for offices or wholesale supply.

Although one of the chairs was a bit wobbly and a tiny fruit fly made a fleeting appearance, the overall atmosphere and music were quite pleasant.
Named Coffee Filter & Orange Coffee Review

The Orange Coffee looked incredibly refreshing at first glance.
Since it's made with freshly squeezed orange juice, I loved tasting the pulp – it added a wonderful texture. It gave me such a great inspiration ✨️ that I thought about trying to mix orange juice with an espresso shot at home!

As an Ethiopia coffee lover, I naturally chose the Bentinenka Natural. Its tasting notes of strawberry, chocolate, blueberry, and plum were absolutely spot on for my palate ☕️💛. It was a stark and wonderful contrast to the coffee I had at another cafe yesterday, making me want to applaud!
It seems to be a beloved local cafe, with residents constantly coming and going. Named Coffee truly feels like a cherished neighborhood spot.
