I found myself back in Ilsan recently, still buzzing from a fantastic concert the night before. To keep that happy vibe going, I decided to explore the charming cafe street of Bamridangil (밤리단길) in Ilsan.

My eyes were immediately drawn to the deep teal sign of Untique (언티크), a dessert cafe that stood out on Ilsan's Bamridangil cafe street. And let me tell you, it was love at first sight! ❤️

The exterior of Untique feels like stepping into a charming European cafe. The cafe street is lined with beautiful spots, but Untique definitely stands out.

The fragrant madeleine scent was captivating right from the entrance. I even tried to be there right at opening, but two early birds, who seemed like regulars, beat me to it! They were already chatting with the owner, raving about how this was 'the best madeleine spot' – a true testament to its popularity.

With about four tables, you can certainly enjoy your treats inside, but it's not a huge space. It seems many customers prefer takeout, and for good reason – their packaging and gift sets are fantastic!

I learned that they get a lot of orders for thank-you gifts, school snacks, church events, and other special occasions! ‼️

From elegant 'bojagi' (traditional Korean cloth wrapping) to stylish boxes, their diverse packaging options make for a thoughtful and impressive gift for any formal occasion. It's clearly a popular spot for dessert gifts in Ilsan, as the staff were constantly baking fresh madeleines to keep up with the demand during my visit.

My Untique Madeleine Menu Review

I ordered the Salted Chocolate, Coffee Hazel, Berry Strawberry, and Matcha.

The actual size of these madeleines is even more substantial than they appear in photos! It's a shame the pictures don't quite capture their generous proportions, which are significantly larger than typical madeleines. This makes them feel like an excellent value for the price.

As a 'well-trained foodie,' I, of course, ordered their signature Cream Latte and, seeing the Berry Strawberry madeleine, added a Strawberry Tea to complete the experience!

The Coffee Hazel madeleine, with its subtle coffee aroma and generous chunks of hazelnut, paired perfectly with the signature Cream Latte. And the Berry Strawberry madeleine? It was absolutely divine with the Strawberry Tea – they just melted in my mouth! It felt like magic... one moment I had madeleines, the next they were gone!

So, what did I do? Ordered more, of course! ✌🏻🍩

They even packaged my extra madeleines adorably, so I happily carried them around!
