On my sister’s first trip to Osaka, there was one dish she absolutely insisted on trying: ramen.
Our original plan was to head to Don Quijote from Umeda Station, finish our shopping, and then return to our accommodation for dinner.
But as we were walking towards Don Quijote, my infant nephew, not even a year old, started crying.
As a first-time aunt, I asked my sister why he was upset, and she explained he was hungry.
My initial thought was, “We can just find a department store nursing room,” but then my sister said, “He needs to eat solid food right now.” I was momentarily flustered.

When traveling with kids, moving between dining and shopping can be exhausting. But here, the dining and shopping routes are practically connected, so even an unexpected meal stop didn't significantly disrupt our overall travel plans.
Waiting Line and Atmosphere
This location attracts a steady stream of both tourists and locals, but the turnover is quick. So, outside of peak hours, the wait isn’t usually too long.
However, with our group of four adults and two children, finding a single table large enough for all of us immediately proved challenging.
Ultimately, my sister's family (two adults + two kids) and my other aunt and I ended up sitting separately.
It was a good reminder that when traveling with kids, the question “Can we eat right now?” often trumps finding the absolute best restaurant.

The noodles and broth were delicious, and the chashu (braised pork belly) was incredibly tender, making for a consistently satisfying and universally appealing flavor.
If someone asks, “I’m new to Japan, where should I go for ramen?” Ippudo is always a top recommendation.

After we finished our meal, we went over to my sister’s table to help with the kids.
Both nephews were already happily full from their rice and ramen.
