Ilsin World Jinju: Discover Korea's Retro General Store

As soon as I decided to travel to Jinju and started searching,

it practically dominated my algorithm:

an absolutely H-U-G-E Jinju vintage shop popped up‼️

While many 'prop shops' these days

are just filled with knock-off Sanrio, Stitch, and gachapon items from platforms like Ali/Temu,

amidst all the 'fake' shops rampant everywhere,

this is a *true* vintage shop...

And this place is none other than Ilshin World!

✅Operating Hours: Daily 10:00-18:00

✅It's less of a 'prop shop' and more of a general store,

where you can find everything from various kitchenware, home decor, and stationery,

truly like an old-fashioned 'everything store'!

The building itself is Ilshin World,

and you can feel the traces of time

perfectly preserved within its walls.

Dating all the way back to 1989,,

specializing in kitchen, bathroom, and wedding registry items.

It's an imported goods specialist!

Haha, I wonder if they used to sell an even wider variety back then?

With nearby places like Jungangjip restaurant, Inus Cafe,

and Jangsuchon, featured on Poongja's popular show 'Tto Gan Jip' (Visited Again),

there are plenty of great spots for food and coffee,

making it a must-visit destination on your Jinju trip!

A General Store with Absolutely Everything!

Ilshin World

As soon as you open the door and step inside,

you're greeted by the friendly owner,

who even offered a place to store my bag

so I could browse comfortably!

(And since the aisles in a general store can be a bit narrow,)

It truly made starting my exploration light and easy!

Snoopy, Pokémon, Sanrio, Miffy, vintage McDonald's items,

Coca-Cola, Duffy, imported kitchenware,

and even Korean kitchenware like Haengnam Porcelain – there's so much here!

It feels like a real treasure hunt

as you explore every corner.

Even though there were plenty of air conditioners and fans inside,

I got so engrossed, exclaiming 'ooh' and 'aah' at everything,

that my passionate exploration led to me

working up a sweat! ^^;

If you ask about a product,

the owner seems ready to immediately recite its history and story.

The background music is great, too,

and every item has a price tag and even its release year attached,

which is incredibly thoughtful and transparent!

But the prices are, well, not quite as friendly...

I've watched ALL of these, you know! Haha!

"Oh, it's so cute!" I thought...

But after seeing the price tag,

I had countless internal battles with myself,

that process repeated endlessly.

"Oh, it's so cute!"

"Ah.... ah..."

"Okay, next one!"

It was pretty much that feeling, you know?

But this plate, I thought,

would be absolutely perfect for desserts!

And the price was good too?

And just like that, it found its way into my basket!

Since it's packed to the ceiling with goodies,

I really recommend taking your time to look around.

If I won the lottery,

I'd buy *everything* in here...

I'm seriously so curious how the owner manages to find all these treasures!

That's the vibe! ^.~

Anpanman, Froggy's Big Eyes, and so much more! So many cute items I didn't even notice while I was there, only spotting them now in the photos.

Ilshin World truly has such a diverse range, from the latest merchandise to timeless vintage treasures.

It's nothing like what you'd find on Temu or AliExpress.

It's different, truly on another level entirely!

While the prices mean you might go bankrupt trying to buy everything cute you see...

it's a place where your eyes will simply revel in happiness.

Your Jinju trip would be way too short if you only visited Ilshin World...
