Recommended Jinju Travel Itinerary
Beyond the Lantern Festival, Jinju offers so much to see, eat, and do,
making Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, a treasure trove for explorers!

The Jinju Intercity Bus Terminal has a friendly, cozy vibe,

and you can even grab some delicious snacks like toast and fish cakes there.

The Express Bus Terminal is comparatively more stylish, haha!

McDonald's Jinju Chili Burger
That's Jinju!

Jinju Chili Burger is back‼️
While GD's Gochujang Butter is currently the new menu item,
the Jinju Chili Burger 🌶️🌶️
gained popularity with its authentic taste of Korea.
It's quite fun to check out the special prints at each store.
Jinju Cheonjeon Market Sundae

📍 Cheonjeon Market
290-2 Chilam-dong, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
Jinju Cheonjeon Market's sundae is also famous,
with two prominent sundae stalls at the market entrance.
Both places are similar, so just choose based on your gut feeling〰️

I picked the original 35-year-old sundae from the stand in front of Morning Stationery.
Perhaps they noticed a lonely woman traveling alone?
When I asked how much sundae I could order for a minimum,
they told me to buy as much as I wanted,
and even sold me ~$2 worth of it,,
These days, sundae usually starts at ~$4-~$5.
The cutting board was clean too.
Of course, sundae is best with makjang (chili paste)〰️〰️

My first meal? A carbonated drink from McDonald's and sundae?
No, my first snack!
It was perfect as a starter.
And after that, bread...

📍 Olki Bakery
1F, 5 Jinjudaero930beon-gil, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
Hamo, Jinju's Character

Cute Hamo!
You can find Hamo in the underpass,
and there's even a Hamo character shop near Jinjuseong Fortress 😇
Ilshin World, Jinju's Vintage Accessory Shop

📍 Ilshin World
7 Jinjudaero1032beon-gil, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
Around Ilshin World,
you'll also find a variety of great restaurants.

There's Jungang-jip, which serves thick sushi,
oden soup with a whole radish,
and fantastic spicy fish stew.
And while it might not be for everyone,
there's also Jangsuchon Doenjang Jjigae, which Pungja enjoyed so much on 'Ttoganjip' (a famous Korean food show).

The sky is absolutely stunning,,

Even the chain's color is jade green,, Seriously, how can it be this beautiful?
Jinju Fortress & Jinju National Museum

Free admission to Jinju Fortress during the Lantern Festival‼️

It's even prettier at night,
so make sure to go in around sunset‼️

If you enter Jinju Fortress,
you can also enjoy the Jinju National Museum,
and you can even purchase
National Museum of Korea merch right here without going far‼️

At the Hamu Store and Tourist Information Center next to Jinju Fortress,
you can also store your luggage (9 AM - 9 PM)

You can also get loads of travel information there,

And that wraps up our first night‼️

📍 Jinju Jungang Market
8-1 Jinyanghoro 547beon-gil, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
Markets named 'Jungang Market' (Central Market)
are always good, trust me〰️〰️

We ordered Spicy Fish Cake Gimbap from Tongkeun Gimbap,
and they rolled up a fresh one right away.

Oh my goodness, this is so delicious,,
I intended for it to be an appetizer,
but it turned into a whole meal!
Comparing Honey Bread Hotspots in Jinju Jungang Market
Deokin-dang vs. Daeseong Handmade Honey Bread

📍 Deokin-dang Kkulppang (Honey Bread)
12-1 Jangdaero 43beon-gil, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
📍 Daeseong Suje Kkulppang (Handmade Honey Bread)
Daeseong Suje Kkulppang, 6 Jinyangho-ro 555beon-gil, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do

I used to think Tongyeong was the only place famous for kkulppang...
...but it turns out Gyeongnam Province totally nails it when it comes to these treats! 😉
Crispy on the outside
Moist on the inside
And the red bean paste wasn't overly sweet – absolutely delicious!
Daeseong Suje Kkulppang felt a bit more customer-focused,
They were so kind,
And there was even a discount if you paid with cash!

And here's Jinju Terminal, a refreshing change with actual people ready to help, not just machines!

Alas, I really don't want to go home just yet! *wipes a tear*
