Hyde Park is one of London's most iconic Royal Parks,
covering an area of approximately 1.4 million square meters.
While it's usually a serene spot for strolls and relaxation,
in winter, it transforms into a vibrant wonderland filled with ice rinks, thrilling rides,
and dazzling Christmas lights.
That's right, it's **Hyde Park Winter Wonderland**!

You **can only enter within your designated time slot**, so
I recommend arriving with plenty of time to spare!

Also, be aware of the **entry regulations**.

📌 Drinks: Opened beverages not allowed
Unopened bottled water and empty tumblers are okay.
📌 Bags: Handbags or small backpacks only
The standard is A4 size or smaller.
3. Four Entrances: Which Way In?

There are a total of four entrances.
I entered through the Red Gate.
When I visited, there seemed to be fewer people entering through the Gold or Red gates compared to Green or Blue.
Entrance | Nearest Station | Nearest Zone |
Red (East) | Bond Street, Marble Arch | Santaland, Thrillville |
Blue (South) | Hyde Park Corner, Green Park, Victoria | Skater's Corner, Show Town |
Green (West) | Knightsbridge, High Street Kensington | Bavarian Village, Market Square |
Gold (North) | Marble Arch, Paddington | Arctic Circle, Luminarie Lane |
📌 Red: For families with kids heading straight to Santaland or thrill rides
📌 Blue: For heading straight to the Ice Rink or Circus MegaDome
📌 Green: If your destination is the Bavarian Village and Christmas Market
📌 Gold: If you want to take photos of Luminarie Lane and the Arctic Circle first

Choosing the entrance that matches your visit's purpose can save you travel time within the vast event grounds.
4. London Winter Wonderland Ride Review
Rides at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland are paid for separately from the admission fee.
My nieces and nephews said they weren't interested in thrill rides or ice skating.
So, we just bought admission tickets and went in.
When you want to go on rides,
you can buy tokens at a token exchange booth or
pay with a contactless card.
One token costs 1 Pound (approx. ~$1).

If you want to go on several thrilling rides, like rollercoasters,
it might be better to buy a package admission ticket instead.
From haunted houses and Ferris wheels to carousels and rollercoasters,
there's quite a variety of rides for a limited-time amusement park!

Since my nieces and nephews are still young,
they eagerly rode the slowly spinning carousel.

It seems like 5 tokens are usually the minimum...😥

We even played a claw machine! 😆
🎧 How to Experience |
All the rides are outdoors. In the middle of winter, dress warmly. It gets too cold to ride them too late in the evening. I entered at 5:30 PM and left at 7:30 PM. |
The lights are much prettier in the evening.
That's why I recommend entering right after sunset.
It was so cold that I played for about two hours and then headed home...
Still, thanks to the sparkling lights and music,
I truly got to soak in the Christmas atmosphere of winter London!🎄

If you're planning a winter trip to London,
you absolutely must visit London Winter Wonderland!!!
