Don't get turned away at the gate! Master your 2026 Hong Kong Disneyland trip with essential tips on booking tickets, skipping lines with DPA, and mandatory park reservations.
Hong Kong is an absolutely incredible city to visit, especially toward the end of the year!
And if you're planning a trip, there's one place you simply cannot miss:
Hong Kong Disneyland.
After experiencing it firsthand, I realized something crucial.
Figuring out how to get to the park is easy, but the real secret to a perfect day
lies in how you prep your tickets, Disney Premier Access (DPA), and park reservations.

To put it simply, preparing your tickets and DPA
is half the battle when visiting Hong Kong Disneyland.
Another major step that many travelers overlook is mandatory park pre-registration.
I'll be covering exactly how to do that in this guide.
(If you don't pre-register, you will be denied entry at the gate!)
I'll also break down the best ways to get to the park,
the must-ride attractions that require DPA,
and I've included some exclusive discount codes at the end.
There are three main ways to get from downtown Hong Kong
to the Disneyland Resort.
1. By MTR (Subway)
2. By Bus
3. By Taxi
For these examples, I'll use Tsim Sha Tsui as our starting point.

If you take the MTR, you'll need to transfer three times:
Tsim Sha Tsui Station > Nam Cheong Station > Sunny Bay Station > Disneyland Resort
The journey takes about an hour,
and the fare is 25 HKD, which is ~$3.
💳 Octopus Card Accepted!

The second option is taking the bus, which requires one transfer.
You'll take the A21 (Airport Bus) > transfer to the R8.
The fare is 40 HKD (~$5),
but it takes a bit longer, usually around an hour and a half.
💳 Octopus Card Accepted!

The last option is taking a taxi, which is what my group did.
Honestly, it's the most expensive option, but it gets you there in under 30 minutes
and is by far the most comfortable way to travel.
From the Marco Polo Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui,
our fare came out to 179 HKD, which is roughly ~$22.
However, if you split that between three people, it's only about ~$7 per person.
For families or group travelers,
taking a taxi is actually a fantastic deal.

This was my first time using DPA (Disney Premier Access) in Hong Kong,
and honestly, I don't know how I ever survived without it.
Compared to Disney parks in other countries, the DPA in Hong Kong
is significantly cheaper, making it an incredible value.
If you try to ride standby,
the World of Frozen attractions, Hyperspace Mountain,
and the Iron Man Experience all boast wait times of over an hour.

But with DPA, you basically skip the entire line.
The amount of energy you save is unbelievable.
Even though Hong Kong Disneyland generally has shorter lines than other parks,
standing in queues all day is exhausting,
so the DPA was worth every penny for us.
Especially if you're visiting during peak season or on a weekend, DPA isn't just an option—
it's practically a necessity.

This is a step that so many travelers miss:
Buying a ticket to Hong Kong Disneyland is NOT enough.
You must officially register your visit date online to be allowed entry.
I initially thought, "I bought the ticket, I'm good to go,"
but I only found out about this rule after checking the official website.

During peak seasons, dates book up incredibly fast.
If you don't register, your entire itinerary could be ruined.
The safest strategy is to register your date
the exact moment you purchase your tickets.
You can register up to 90 days before your visit,
so don't procrastinate—get it done right away.

As I mentioned earlier, because you need to pre-register your visit,
you should absolutely buy your tickets online in advance.
Since there are so many platforms selling tickets,
finding the best deal is key.
Using global travel platforms is highly recommended,
especially if you want to purchase your ticket and DPA together.

After comparing prices across various travel platforms,
I found that Klook was overwhelmingly the cheapest option.
(Note: Klook generally offers the best rates for Hong Kong activities)
I also managed to track down some discount codes
so you can get your tickets even cheaper!
Save up to ~$5 with these codes:

And here is a massive tip that most people don't know:
I highly recommend buying your Admission Ticket, Premier Access, and Early Park Entry SEPARATELY.
The bundle is actually a few dollars more expensive!
I didn't realize this until later and felt completely betrayed...

After my trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, I can confidently say:
"If you don't prepare, you'll only experience half the magic."
Getting to the park is a breeze,
but whether you pre-register your visit and buy DPA
will completely dictate how your day flows.
The DPA in Hong Kong offers such incredible value for the money,
that NOT buying it almost feels like a missed opportunity.
If you depart from Tsim Sha Tsui Station, it takes about 1 hour and requires 3 transfers to reach Disneyland Resort Station. The fare is 25 HKD, which is ~$3, and you can use an Octopus Card.
No, after purchasing your ticket, you must make an advance reservation to select your visit date in order to enter on the same day. You can register on the official website up to 90 days prior to your visit, so it is recommended to do this immediately after buying your ticket.
World of Frozen, Hyperspace Mountain, and the Iron Man Experience typically have wait times of over an hour. Purchasing a DPA (Disney Premier Access) separately is highly useful as it allows you to almost entirely skip the standby lines.
No. It is cheaper to purchase the admission ticket, Disney Premier Access, and Early Park Entry individually rather than as a package. The package costs ~$112, but buying them separately costs ~$109, allowing you to save money.
