🚶🏻♀️ How to Get There: A 20-minute Grab ride from Ho Chi Minh Square
Ho Thi Ky Night Market

Ho Thi Ky Night Market, a place I missed on my trip last year...!
Honestly, I couldn't go because of the rain.
But this time, I was determined to go, and so I did!

After a roughly 15-minute Grab ride, you'll arrive.
I heard it gets super crowded during peak hours, so I aimed for a slightly earlier visit, around 6 PM.

Interestingly, during the day, Ho Thi Ky Night Market actually operates as a flower market.
That's why you'll still see some flower shops open near the entrance.

Haha, I recently saw this in Myeongdong, too!
They even sell 10 Won Bread here.
In Myeongdong, it sells for ~$3, but here, it's only ~$1.
So for your 10 Won Bread fix, skip Myeongdong and grab it here at Ho Thi Ky! Haha!

After passing through the entrance, I ventured a little deeper inside.

There were delicious-looking Vietnamese pancakes,

and even my favorite sausages!

The prices were incredibly cheap, starting around ~$1, haha!
Perfect for grabbing a bite without worrying about your wallet.

Ho Thi Ky Night Market is also renowned for its seafood street.

As expected, there was an abundance of fresh seafood like oysters, lobster, and various clams.

We had already eaten lobster at Chai Village, a famous restaurant in Ho Chi Minh's District 1, so we skipped that section.

If you spotted the sign that says 'Lobster is free if it doesn't taste good,'
this place is just the entrance to the market.

The area for eating lobster had plenty of seating like this.
It was empty at the moment,
but after 8 PM, it filled up with people.

What an incredible amount of sea urchin roe! So rare to see!

I was curious about it, but I thought it might be fishier than I expected, so I couldn't bring myself to try it.

There were also snail dishes.

There were also various kinds of skewers and dishes that included eggs.

We walked all the way to the end, then after much deliberation about what to eat, we decided to find a spot and dig in.

There were also sweet desserts.

And these are the skewers we chose.

Since it was street food, we wanted a place with a fast turnover that was also reasonably clean, and this place seemed the cleanest.

Looking at it again, it's making my mouth water..

These grilled skewers were surprisingly delicious, I was genuinely surprised!

Once you pick your skewers, they're grilled right there on the spot.

Then they guide you to your seats.
Chairs and tables with a 'bathhouse' vibe... haha!
Doesn't it feel super local?!
It was incredibly cheap, so I didn't even bother thinking about the exact price, lol.

The visuals are incredible, right?
If you eat here, make sure to order plenty at once.
It took longer than expected to get our food, and I regretted only ordering a little, lol.

They also provide dipping sauces that went perfectly with the skewers.
✔️If you ask if they have beer, they'll somehow find it for you, LOL!

Leaving our slight disappointment behind, we stopped by another spot.

This is the only place in the night market that grills various meats in this style, so you'll definitely recognize it as you walk by.

Ah, so this is *that* place!

Normally, you'd just check off what you want on the Vietnamese menu and hand it over!

However, they recognized we were foreigners and gave us a plate and tongs instead.
The price for the cheapest items is 10,000 VND per piece.
Starting from ~\$0.

So, we just picked whatever we wanted.

Once you choose, they grill it right there, and there's a separate seating area inside where you can enjoy your meal.

This place is truly... a popular local eatery.
It was packed with locals.
We were the only foreign tourists there, haha!

And here are the dishes we got.

They also gave us sauces here.
That green sauce was absolutely delicious.
Full of aromatic spices, tangy, zesty, and spicy – it truly complemented the grilled skewers perfectly.

And they had cold beer here!
So, we immediately ordered some to enjoy.
The only slight regret was that the previous place tasted even better, haha.
Still, this is a spot where locals truly line up to eat...
So it wasn't bad at all.

Wrapping Up
