On my first visit to the city, I stumbled upon this place purely by chance.

And what caught my eye?

An incredibly long line of locals!

I had just finished a meal, so I couldn't stop then, but I made a mental note: "I *have* to try this next time."

Well, that "next time" finally arrived! Haha.

What was even more telling was the sheer number of Grab delivery drivers patiently waiting, indicating just how popular this spot is for takeout.

As luck would have it, the day I decided to go, it started to rain.

I was a little worried the queue might be gone. I wanted to capture the bustling scene for this post, but with the rain...

(Thankfully, I had some photos from my previous visit when it wasn't raining).

But my worries were completely unfounded! Haha. Despite the downpour, this true local Ho Chi Minh gem still had a line of eager customers.

(Though admittedly, not quite as long as on a sunny day).

And inside, just as many people! It was really coming down at this point.

A whole team of people was diligently assembling banh mis inside.

and toast them right there to achieve that perfect crispy exterior.

While they might offer other side dishes, it was clear that everyone was there for one thing: the banh mi itself! Haha.

They even have a menu board listing prices for multiple sandwiches, likely because people buy them in bulk.

At first, I thought there might be a discount for buying more, but nope, it's just the unit price multiplied by the quantity! Haha.

Finally, I got my order. They hand you the banh mi along with a separate bag of fresh vegetables.

They also provide a plastic glove to help you add the veggies and a wet wipe for cleaning up afterward. Thoughtful!
