The Ferris Wheel is located on the 7th floor of the Hankyu HEP FIVE Shopping Mall.

It's just a 7-minute walk from Umeda Station. Directly across the street, you'll find a massive Don Quijote, making it incredibly convenient to squeeze in some souvenir shopping right after your ride!

The mall itself features fantastic shops from the 1st to 6th floors, with trendy cafes and a very popular Disney Store.

During my visit, they had a Detective Conan themed pop-up cafe! It was packed with families and anime fans. Previously, it was a Jujutsu Kaisen cafe—they change the themes regularly, which is always fun.

There are also plenty of great restaurants here, making it a perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner before heading up to the wheel.

To get to the Ferris wheel, simply enter the mall, take the elevator straight up to the 7th floor, and walk towards the back where you'll find the ticket counter.

I visited on a weekday afternoon and there was absolutely no wait. While weekends might get a bit busier, the lines move incredibly fast.

Pricing & Booking

Buying a ticket on-site costs 800 JPY (approx. $5.50) for adults.

The Ride Experience

Each cabin accommodates up to 4 passengers. The best part? You will never be paired with strangers—each group gets their own private cabin.

This makes it incredibly comfortable to take photos, listen to music, and enjoy the view without feeling self-conscious. It's a huge hit for couples and families alike!

The entire ride takes exactly 15 minutes.

The cabins aren't massive, but they are perfectly spacious for 2 people. If you have a group of 4, it might feel a little cozy!

Inside, there is a built-in speaker where you can connect your phone via Bluetooth to play your favorite soundtrack as you ascend.

As the wheel slowly climbs above the Umeda skyscrapers, playing some relaxing music makes the panoramic views feel even more magical.

To be honest, I actually have a pretty intense fear of heights, so I stayed behind while my companions went up! Even my friend, who doesn't usually mind heights, mentioned that it felt surprisingly thrilling (and a tiny bit scary) once they reached the very top.

If you ride at night, the city lights are absolutely stunning. However, for photography, daytime rides definitely yield much cleaner and sharper photos without the window glare!
