Osaka Night View Review & Itinerary

Whenever I travel abroad, I always make it a point
to visit a local observatory to take in the city skyline.
While Osaka has several famous spots
like the Umeda Sky Building and Tsutenkaku,
I wanted the ultimate night view experience.
So, I chose Japan's tallest skyscraper observatory:
'Harukas 300'!
For anyone curious about adding this to their 2026 itinerary,
I'm breaking down the essential info, ticket booking tips, prices,
and my honest review of the night view!

Harukas 300 Observatory Basic Info Hours: 09:00 AM - 10:00 PM Closed: Open year-round Location: 1 Chome-1-43 Abenosuji, Abeno Ward, Osaka How to get there: 60th Floor of the Abeno Harukas building |
Let's start with the basic operational info
for the Harukas 300 Observatory.
They are open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM,
with the last entry at 9:30 PM.
❗️If you want plenty of time to enjoy the night view,
I highly recommend getting there before 9:00 PM.

Getting there is incredibly easy. Hop off at Tennoji Station,
head through the underground passage directly into the
'Abeno Harukas' building, and simply follow
the blue observatory signs. You can't miss the entrance!
Next up, let's talk about how to book Harukas 300 tickets
and how much they cost.
📌 Harukas 300 Ticket Prices
Adults: 2,000 JPY
Jr/Sr High Students: 1,200 JPY
Elementary Students: 700 JPY
Toddlers (Ages 4+): 500 JPY
Under 4: Free
At 2,000 JPY for adults
(which is roughly ~$14 depending on the exchange rate),
it's actually quite reasonable—especially when you consider
that major observatories in Tokyo often charge around 3,000 JPY.
However, rather than buying at the official site or the ticket counter,
💡 booking online in advance is about 10% cheaper!
If you book through the link below,
you can snag your ticket for just ~$13!

Now, let's get into my night view review.

I visited around 9:00 PM on a Friday. There was zero wait time,
and the observation deck wasn't overly crowded at all.

The glowing Osaka skyline stretching all the way to the horizon
was every bit as beautiful as I had hoped.
Because it's the tallest building in the city,
there's absolutely nothing obstructing your line of sight.

Plus, thanks to the 360-degree panoramic view,
you get a complete picture of Osaka's diverse neighborhoods.
I even spotted the brightly lit Tsutenkaku Tower,
which looked like a tiny glowing toy from way up there!

If you use Harukas as your center point, the northern side
is packed with tourist attractions, while the south is mostly residential.
Because of this, the northern night view is incredibly vibrant,
whereas the southern side has darker patches interwoven with streetlights.
Understanding this layout makes the view even more fascinating!

The observatory isn't just about the view, either.
They also offer a BBQ area, as well as food and drinks.
If you have some flexibility in your itinerary, coming up a bit earlier
to enjoy dinner with the sunset and night view is highly recommended.

The Harukas 300 Observatory is an absolute must-add
to your Osaka travel itinerary.
Towering over Tsutenkaku and offering a completely different vibe
than the Umeda Sky Building, it’s arguably
the best spot in the city for panoramic night views!
✅ Book your tickets in advance for a discount, or
✅ utilize the Kansai Joy Pass to maximize your budget!
I highly recommend securing your passes online before your trip.
I hope this guide helps you plan a spectacular
visit to the Harukas Observatory. Enjoy the view!
