When it comes to spectacular city views in Osaka, the Umeda Sky Building and Harukas 300 are always the top contenders.
Having visited both, I had to decide which one would offer the absolute best experience to show my boyfriend on his first trip to the city.
Ultimately, I chose Harukas 300 again.
With its seamless underground connection from Tennoji Station, fantastic nearby shopping (including Kintetsu Department Store, Don Quijote, and Animate), and the incredible transition from sunset to glittering night views, it is an unbeatable choice for anyone hunting for the ultimate Osaka skyline experience.

While you can purchase tickets at the gate, pre-booking online is much cheaper and saves you plenty of time.

How to Get There
Getting here is incredibly straightforward. As soon as you exit the gates at Tennoji Station, the basement level connects directly to the Abeno Harukas building.
The floor signs and directions are very clear, so even first-timers will find it a breeze to navigate.
How to Enter
Once you enter the building, take the elevator up to the 16th-floor ticket office.
Since I pre-booked my tickets, I quickly exchanged my voucher for physical tickets at the counter and followed the staff's guidance to the dedicated observatory elevator next to the ticket booth.
We arrived around 9:20 PM and walked straight in without waiting. You just scan your QR code at the gates to enter.
The elevator shoots straight up to the 60th floor in seconds—it is so fast that your ears might pop along the way!
The moment the elevator doors slide open, the entire glittering expanse of Osaka unfolds right in front of you. Even though I have seen this view before, it still took my breath away.
From the deck, you can even spot the glowing Tsutenkaku Tower over in the Shinsekai district. It is relatively close, so it stands out beautifully in the night sky.
If there is one minor downside to visiting late at night, it is the indoor light reflection on the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Pro Tip: To get clean, reflection-free photos, press your camera lens directly against the glass!
Once you are finished taking in the views, you will need to head down one floor to board the return elevator.

On the way down, you will pass a gift shop selling cute mascot merchandise and collectible magnets. Because we visited so late, we had to rush through, which was a bit of a bummer.
If you love unique travel souvenirs, make sure to leave some time to browse!
Since we stayed right up until closing time, the exit route was incredibly peaceful and uncrowded.
My Review & Recommended Timing
Although we went late at night, the absolute best way to experience Harukas 300 is to arrive just before sunset.
This gives you the perfect three-in-one experience: watching the golden sunset, witnessing the twilight transition, and finally admiring the endless sea of neon city lights.

When purchasing on-site, the price is 2,000 JPY for adults and 1,200 JPY for youths. If you book in advance through a platform, you can purchase tickets at a cheaper price, such as ~$9.
When you get off at Tennoji Station, there is a direct underground connection to the Harukas building. Just follow the guide signs on the floor. After entering the building, take the elevator to the 16th floor, where the ticket counter is located.
When enjoying the night view, the interior lights reflecting on the glass windows can interfere with your photography. To take clear photos without light reflection, it is recommended to place your camera lens as close to the glass as possible.
