Harry Potter Studio Tour London 2026: Booking & Travel Guide
Dreaming of stepping into the wizarding world? This guide to the Harry Potter Studio Tour London covers everything from booking months ahead to navigating the magic in 2026. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure!

For anyone who loves Harry Potter,
when you're planning your London trip,
one of the most anticipated places is surely
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London,
The Making of Harry Potter!

It was one of those places I always told myself
I'd visit someday while watching the movies.
But after going myself,
I realized that planning a visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour,
starting with the booking, wasn't as straightforward as I thought.
I booked both the admission ticket and transportation myself,
but honestly, if I were to go again,
I'd probably opt for a tour package.
I'll break down why I felt that way,
covering the differences between booking independently versus a tour,
how to get to the Harry Potter Studio Tour,
and even my recommended viewing order
based on my 3-4 hour visit.
1. Booking the Harry Potter Studio Tour: Recommend at least 3 months in advance

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is a place
where you can see the actual film sets and props
from the Harry Potter movie series.
When I checked, the admission ticket price was £58.5,
which was about ~$85.
The recommended viewing time is
approximately 3.5 to 5 hours!
From my personal experience,
it took me about 3 to 4 hours to look around.
If you want to take your time, snap photos,
and truly soak everything in,
you might want to allow even more time.
📌 Harry Potter Studio Tour Basic Information
Category | Details |
Admission Ticket Price | £58.5 (about ~$85) |
Recommended Viewing Time | Approx. 3.5-5 hours |
My Actual Viewing Time | Approx. 3-4 hours |
Official Website |
Most importantly, booking is key!
Tickets for the Harry Potter Studio Tour sell out quickly,
so to secure your desired date, time, and number of people,
I recommend booking at least 3 months in advance.
Especially if your London travel dates are fixed
and you absolutely must go on a specific day,
check ticket availability well in advance.
When I tried to book directly,
getting tickets for my preferred conditions
was more challenging than I expected.
🎟️ Hehehohi's Travel Tip |
During peak seasons like summer holidays or Christmas, it can be even harder to find your desired dates and times. If you're planning to visit during these periods, I recommend finalizing your dates and booking even further in advance than 3 months. |
2. Independent Booking VS Tour Booking
I booked everything myself, from admission tickets to transportation.
However, doing it independently,
I found it quite cumbersome.
First, you have to secure your Harry Potter Studio Tour tickets
for your desired date yourself,
and then you need to figure out transportation from London
to the studio separately.
Individually, none of it is incredibly difficult,
but juggling all these details while planning an entire trip
felt a bit cumbersome.
That's why if I were to go again,
I'd probably opt for a tour package.
Especially for a family trip, a tour
would be much more convenient and enjoyable.
If you're traveling with parents or children,
it would be much more reassuring to book a package that includes both tickets and transportation
all at once, rather than worrying about each component
like tickets, trains, and transfers separately.
On the other hand, if you're a solo traveler,
familiar with London's public transport,
and prefer the freedom to explore at your own pace,
then booking independently is perfectly fine.
📌 Differences I Noticed After Visiting Myself
Category | Independent Booking | Tour Booking |
Admission Ticket | Must secure yourself | Option to choose ticket-inclusive packages |
Transportation | Must arrange separately | Transportation can be handled all at once |
Schedule | Can adjust freely | Travel according to a fixed itinerary |
Recommended For | Those familiar with London transport | Family trips & first-time visitors |
My Choice | Booked independently this time | Plan to use a tour next time |
If, like me, you find booking each element separately a bit inconvenient,
or if you want a hassle-free trip with your family,
then do compare tour packages.

3. How to Get to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter

If you booked directly,
you'll need to make your own way to the Studio.

First, take a train from London Euston Station
to Watford Junction Station.
The train ride took about 20 minutes,
and the round-trip train fare was
£14.4, which was about ~$21.

Once you arrive at Watford Junction Station,
you'll need to find the shuttle bus that goes to the
Harry Potter Studio.

It was easy to spot thanks to
the Harry Potter wrapping.
After about a 15-minute shuttle bus ride,
you'll finally arrive at the Studio!
It's not actually difficult to find your way there
if you go yourself.
However, since you have to book admission tickets separately,
research train routes, and then take the shuttle bus,
after doing it myself, I understood why people
opt for tour packages.
I recommend allowing plenty of time
for your journey.
4. Recommended Visiting Order for Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

Once you enter the Studio, you'll find it's
much larger than you might expect.
It took me about 3-4 hours
to explore everything.
Don't forget to grab a Studio Passport,
which you can get upon entry.
It's surprisingly fun to collect stamps
in each area as you go around.
📌 Entrance to the Wizarding World

As you enter the lobby, you'll see a
massive dragon on the ceiling.
From this point, I truly felt like,
'Wow, I'm really at the Harry Potter Studio!'
After watching a video in the cinema room and
passing through the gates to Hogwarts Castle, the tour officially begins.
📌 The Great Hall

The first place I highly recommend visiting
is the Great Hall.
It's Hogwarts' main feasting hall,
a place that appeared so frequently in the films.
You can see the uniforms of all four houses
and the magical robes of the faculty.
Especially during special seasons,
it's often elaborately decorated to match the theme of that time,
making it really fun to walk through a space
you've only seen in the movies.
If you're a Harry Potter fan,
you'll feel excited from the moment you step in here.
📌 Dormitories, Headmaster's Office, Potions Classroom

The Gryffindor and Slytherin common rooms,
Dumbledore's office,
the Potions classroom, and more —
you can explore the actual filming sets
you saw in the movies, one by one.

Professor Snape is my absolute favorite! 😂
It's a shame his character in the story turned out so differently, though...
📌 The Forbidden Forest

In the Forbidden Forest,
you can encounter Buckbeak the Hippogriff
and Aragog the giant spider.
The atmosphere was surprisingly realistic,
creating a fantastic immersive experience.
📌 Platform 9 ¾ & Hogwarts Express

And here's the second place I absolutely recommend you visit!
It's the Hogwarts Express.
There's a set of Platform 9 ¾ at King's Cross Station,
where you can take photos
at the cart photo zone
that looks like it's going through the wall.
If there are a lot of people, a queue might form,
so make sure to factor in time for taking photos
and allow plenty of time for your visit.

While the Hogwarts Express doesn't actually move,
you can actually go inside the train.
Seeing the train you've watched in the movies repeatedly
right before your eyes,
and even stepping inside,
was definitely a magical experience.
If you're a Harry Potter fan,
you absolutely cannot miss this spot.
📌 Butterbeer & Outdoor Sets

You've come all this way,
so you can't possibly skip Butterbeer, right?
The taste is like a carbonated drink
topped with vanilla cream...?
It's a unique taste, *ahem*...
Come to think of it, it's a fake beer for students,
so there's no way it would taste like real beer, right? 😂

Outdoors, there are also photo zones like the Knight Bus,
Number Four, Privet Drive,
and the Hogwarts Bridge.

The scene where Hogwarts acceptance letters come flying in
is also recreated,
making it perfect for photos.
📌 Gringotts Bank & Diagon Alley

As you head towards the latter part of the tour,
you'll find Gringotts Bank.
There's quite a lot to see, from the opulent bank interior
to the scene of the dragon's destruction.

And personally,
the space I loved the most was
Diagon Alley!
From Ollivanders wand shop
to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes,
it truly felt like I was walking through the streets
straight out of the movies.
There are so many great photo opportunities,
I could easily spend hours just soaking it all in here!
📌 The Hogwarts Castle Model

Finally,
a massive Hogwarts Castle model awaits you.
You can view it 360 degrees as day turns into night,
and the sheer scale of it is far more breathtaking
than any photo can capture.
It's also the moment when you feel a pang of sadness,
realizing the tour is almost at an end.
And of course, at the final studio shop,
you can grab all your Harry Potter goodies —
wands, house robes,
Chocolate Frogs, and more!
5. My Honest Review After Visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour

For any Harry Potter fan,
this place is incredibly satisfying.
It's not just a collection of movie props;
it truly feels like you're experiencing the filmmaking process
and the actual sets, which is why 3-4 hours just flew by!
The spots I definitely recommend seeing are
the Great Hall
and the Hogwarts Express!
And my personal favorite area was
Diagon Alley.
Just a heads-up: definitely book your tickets way in advance.
To snag your desired date, time,
and number of people,
I'd suggest checking at least
three months out.
I arranged everything myself, from tickets to transport,
but having done it once,
I think I'll use a tour package
next time.
Especially if you're traveling with family,
a tour makes it so much more convenient
than juggling tickets and transfers individually.
But after experiencing it firsthand,
I completely understand why Harry Potter fans
make this an absolute must-do
on their London trips!
This Muggle is diligently saving up,
eagerly anticipating the next visit... 😂
