Green Tea Restaurant, with its original branch in Hangzhou, is a renowned eatery that has garnered rave reviews from international visitors, making it a must-visit on many travel wishlists. We were thrilled to discover they have a branch right in Beijing's bustling Wangfujing district!
Today, we're excited to share our experience at this Wangfujing gem, Green Tea Restaurant, including its location and top menu recommendations!

Green Tea Restaurant (Beijing Wangfujing Intime In88 Branch) 绿茶餐厅(北京银泰IN88店) |
Operating Hours: Daily 10:30 AM - 10:00 PM Location: 3rd Floor, Wangfujing Intime Department Store (IN 88) |
📍 You'll find Green Tea Restaurant conveniently located on the 3rd floor of the Wangfujing Intime Department Store.
It's directly across from the popular APM shopping mall, a frequent stop for many tourists, making it incredibly easy to find.

We arrived around 5:00 PM for an early dinner, which meant no waiting in line – a pleasant surprise! If you're looking to avoid the evening rush, we highly recommend heading there a bit earlier to secure your table without a delay.

From the moment we stepped in, Green Tea Restaurant evoked the charm of a traditional Chinese garden and home, reinterpreted with a modern flair. It truly felt like stepping into a beautifully curated space, blending ancient aesthetics with contemporary comfort.
The seating primarily consists of tables for two to four people, but don't let that fool you – the restaurant's interior extends quite far back, revealing dozens of additional tables. It's much larger than it appears from the entrance!

Good news for non-Mandarin speakers: the menu features clear pictures of each dish, so ordering is a breeze even if you can't read Chinese characters.
📍 Our Order:
Dongpo Pork (东坡肉) 32 Yuan
Hakka Style Braised Eggplant (客家茄子煲) 32 Yuan
Stir-fried Pork with Chili (辣椒炒肉) 39 Yuan
Spicy Cauliflower Stir-fry (香锅花菜) 26 Yuan
We ordered four dishes in total, and we'd genuinely recommend every single one of them. I'll dive into the delicious details below!

First up was the Spicy Cauliflower Stir-fry. While it contains a few slices of thin pork belly, the star of this dish is definitely the cauliflower, making up about 80% of the plate.
The delightful crunch of the cauliflower paired with a savory sauce makes this a true "rice thief"—you'll want extra portions of rice! The spices aren't overpowering, so it's a crowd-pleaser that most palates will enjoy.

Next, we tried one of Green Tea Restaurant's signature dishes: the Stir-fried Pork with Chili.
The "chilis" in this dish are more like bell peppers, offering flavor without much heat. This is another fantastic "rice thief" – truly addictive!
The rich, savory umami combined with the tender pork means you'll easily polish off a bowl of rice. It's not overly spicy and has a familiar, comforting taste, making it a safe and delicious bet for anyone.

The Braised Eggplant and Dongpo Pork arrived together, their vibrant red hues instantly whetting our appetites. We couldn't wait to dig in!

The Braised Eggplant features finely diced eggplant simmered in a thick, savory sauce reminiscent of a rich black bean paste. It's absolutely divine!
If you're an eggplant lover, this dish is an absolute must-order. Spooned over fluffy white rice, it's a match made in culinary heaven. Personally, I found this to be incredibly delicious!

Finally, the renowned Dongpo Pork! While the portion was smaller than we anticipated, the affordable price meant it still offered excellent value.

Served with soft white buns, the combination was perfect – the buns helped cut through the richness of the succulent, juicy pork. We honestly ordered the Dongpo Pork without high expectations, but it turned out to be surprisingly delicious. The ability to order a smaller portion also made it a guilt-free indulgence.

As we left, we noticed complimentary candies at the counter – a nice touch to cleanse the palate after a flavorful meal. Make sure to grab one on your way out for a refreshing finish!

At Beijing's Green Tea Restaurant in Wangfujing, we appreciated that all the dishes were served with a small candle underneath, ensuring they stayed warm throughout our meal. This thoughtful detail truly enhanced the dining experience, especially for dishes that are best enjoyed hot.
Every one of the four dishes we ordered was delicious and paired perfectly with rice, making them highly recommended. If you're a rice-lover, definitely try the Braised Eggplant or the Stir-fried Pork with Chili – they are incredibly flavorful and will have you asking for more rice!
Overall, the food here leans towards familiar, palatable flavors rather than strong, unfamiliar spices. This makes it an excellent choice for those sensitive to intense flavors or travelers exploring Beijing with family members who prefer milder options.
So, if you're searching for a fantastic restaurant in Beijing, take our review into account and treat yourself to a memorable meal at Green Tea Restaurant!
