Wangfujing, Beijing: 5-Star Accommodation & Breakfast Review
Photos, Text ⓒAeryong
When looking for a Beijing hotel,
room condition is important, but
if it's your first time, you'll likely prioritize location.
With major attractions like the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and Wangfujing
all concentrated downtown,
you'll want to have easy access to everything.
Today, I'm excited to introduce you to
the Grand Hyatt Beijing,
a 5-star hotel in Beijing located right in Wangfujing.
It's directly connected to Oriental Plaza
and offers excellent accessibility to major tourist spots.
If you're looking for an accommodation that's perfect for planning your itinerary
in the heart of Beijing, this is definitely one to check out!
👍🏻 Pros ✅ Central Wangfujing location makes planning your sightseeing route a breeze ✅ Wide variety of room types, with spacious options available ✅ Directly connected to a shopping mall 👎🏻 Cons ✅ As a 5-star Grand Hyatt, the price can be high |
📌Quick Take: A fantastic 5-star hotel in Wangfujing, perfect when you want to make sure your Beijing landmark sightseeing itinerary and room comfort are both top-notch.

The Grand Hyatt Beijing is
located in Oriental Plaza in Wangfujing.
With the hotel directly connected to the shopping mall,
you can easily grab a meal or do some shopping after your sightseeing!
It's also super convenient for getting to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
🚩 Hotel > Forbidden City: 17 mins by car
Hotel > Tiananmen Square: 12 mins by car
Beijing is a massive city,
so the further your accommodation is from the city center,
the longer your travel time to attractions will be.
If you have a short trip,
like 2-3 or 3-4 days,
I genuinely believe staying in the city center
is the most cost-effective choice
in the long run.

2. Hotel Essentials
Accommodation Name: Grand Hyatt Beijing
Room Type: Grand Suite King
Check-in: 15:00
Check-out: 12:00

Stepping inside the hotel,
you're immediately greeted by a grand, high-ceilinged, and expansive lobby.
The central floral arrangement and marble finishes create
a classic 5-star hotel ambiance, rather than the trendy feel you might find in newer establishments.
It's the epitome of timeless elegance!
Overall, it's quite a large property,
and being connected to Oriental Plaza means
you don't even need to step out of the hotel
to enjoy a meal or do some shopping – incredibly practical, right?

3. Room Tour & Condition

With a separate living room and bedroom,
you'll find a sofa, table, and a large TV by the window,
while the sleeping area is tucked away in its own private space.
This setup allows you to truly separate your resting and relaxing zones.
Plus, the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows let in
plenty of beautiful natural light!

The bedroom, primarily featuring wood and beige tones,
exudes a wonderfully calm and serene atmosphere.

As expected from a 5-star hotel, the bed guarantees an absolutely blissful sleep!
The bedding just gently envelops you,
creating that perfect 'drift off to sleep without even realizing it' feeling
after a long day of exploring and a refreshing shower.

In the room, you'll find not only a wardrobe and a safe, but also

A Nespresso machine and bottled water are provided.

There are also drinks in the fridge and a mini-bar.
The drinks/mini-bar contents vary
between complimentary and paid options depending on your package,
so it's a good idea to check after check-in.

The bathroom was also quite spacious,

with separate areas for the washbasin and shower,
and a separate bathtub,
which was convenient as they could be used simultaneously.
When traveling with kids, having a bathtub
is even better for some fun bath time! >.<
The amenities include shampoo, conditioner, and body wash,

and they are none other than BALMAIN.
I really liked the fragrant scent of these amenities.

Disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste are also available.
There were plenty of towels, and they provided more when requested.

4. Facilities
Breakfast
Operating Hours: 06:30-10:30 / The Balcony

My friend who recommended this Beijing accommodation
told me to definitely try the breakfast,
and true to a 5-star hotel in Beijing,
the breakfast restaurant was incredibly spacious with a huge variety of dishes.

Most of the food was also above average in taste.

The fact that they even had **Korean kimchi and Shin Ramyun**
was a major plus for me!

Swimming Pool
Operating Hours: 06:00-23:00 / B3

Unfortunately, I didn't get to visit the swimming pool,
but looking at the photos, it's really beautiful for an indoor pool.
If you have some free time, be sure
to check out the pool.
A **swimming cap is mandatory, but they provide it for free,**
so you only need to bring your swimsuit!
5. Price
For Grand Hyatt Beijing,
based on a weekday in November,
a standard **Queen Room is around ~$242 per night,**
and the **Grand Suite King Room** I stayed in
is **around ~$345 per night** (breakfast not included).
Prices can vary depending on your travel dates, number of guests,
and booking time,
so make sure to double-check!
