When looking for a resort in Da Nang,
you might wonder whether to choose somewhere close to the city center
or go for a place where you can just completely unwind and relax.
It's always a tough choice!
Since I was traveling with my child,
I carefully checked every single detail, from the pools and breakfast
to the kids' facilities and room conditions before booking!
The 5-star Da Nang resort, Grandvrio Ocean Resort,
isn't the type to overwhelm you with flashy, grand luxury right away.
Instead, what makes it so memorable is the incredibly kind staff,
the laid-back vacation vibe,
and the family-friendly layout that makes moving around with kids a breeze.
If you're looking for a trip where you can just swim, enjoy breakfast,
hang out at the kids' club,
and only head into town when you absolutely need to,
this resort will highly satisfy you!

Grandvrio Ocean Resort Danang
isn't located right in the heart of downtown Da Nang,
but rather in the quieter resort area
of Dien Ban.
It takes about 30 minutes by car to get to downtown Da Nang.
So if you're planning to visit Han Market or My Khe Beach
every single day,
you might find it a bit far.
However, since I was traveling with my child,
having a relaxing time swimming and lounging inside the resort
was much more important than packing our days with busy sightseeing.
When we did head to the city, we just used Grab
(and there's also a free shuttle bus available!)
We could also get food delivery right at the lobby,
so it wasn't inconvenient at all.
It truly allowed us to experience the ultimate relaxing staycation.
Because it's located south of downtown Da Nang,
it's also perfect for a day trip to Hoi An!

2. Basic Hotel Information

Note that there is also a "Grandvrio City Hotel" in the city center,
so make sure to double-check the name and location! 🙌🏻
Even though we arrived late at night,
the reception atmosphere was calm and welcoming,
giving us a wonderful first impression.
They greeted us warmly despite the late hour
and even offered a refreshing welcome drink,
which instantly melted away the fatigue of our long travel.
Since my stay overlapped with my birthday, I had requested a cake,
and seeing a cute little brownie cake waiting in our room
absolutely made my day! 😆
But really, the staff service here was top-notch.
When we called a Grab, the staff helped us check the license plate,
and if we were waiting in the lobby,
they would let us know as soon as the car arrived.
They always greeted us with the warmest smiles whenever and wherever we crossed paths,
making our entire stay incredibly pleasant.
3. Room Tour & Conditions
The room I stayed in was the Grand Deluxe Room!
Although this resort also offers pool villas,
we chose a standard room,
and it turned out to be incredibly spacious.
Walking into the room, everything looked so clean and neat,
and the layout felt completely open and airy.
From the space around the bed to the cozy sofa area, and even plenty of room to lay out our suitcases,
it was incredibly comfortable and easy to move around in—
which is a huge plus for family trips when you're traveling with tons of kid gear!
We requested twin beds,
and the bedding was super cozy and pristine.
Even with Southeast Asia's typical humid weather,
we didn't feel any dampness at all and slept like babies.
Rather than a full ocean view, our room overlooked
the swaying palm trees and the kids' pool.
Personally, I love lush, green views,
so it really made me feel like I was in a tropical paradise.
The mini-fridge was surprisingly decent-sized,
making it super easy to store snacks, fruits, and drinks for the kids,
and they also provided complimentary bottled water, coffee, and tea.
In the closet, they even had traditional Non La hats and a handy resort bag—
perfect for taking cute photos or just carrying things around
the resort with ease!
The bathroom had a great layout with the shower area, sink, and toilet
all separated, making it super convenient to use.
All the essential amenities were well-provided,
including toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Plus, the water pressure and drainage were great with zero issues!
The overall cleanliness of the room was top-notch,
and the staff was incredibly quick to respond
to our requests, like replacing towels,
making our 2-night stay absolutely seamless.
4. Resort Amenities
Breakfast
Hours: 06:30-11:00
One unique thing about Grandvrio Ocean is that
you can choose between a buffet, Japanese home-style, or American style breakfast.
Having these distinct options was so interesting!
On our first day, we tried the Japanese set meal,
and the next day, we went with the buffet.
Both had their own unique charm!
Since the Japanese breakfast is served as a complete set,
I didn't have to keep getting up to fetch food for the kiddo.
It made our morning feel so much more relaxed and peaceful!
The buffet, on the other hand, had a wide variety of options,
which was perfect for adjusting to our child's tastes.
Crowd-pleasers like eggs, fried rice, and noodle soup
were delicious and safe bets,
and there were plenty of sweet treats that the kids absolutely loved.
While it might not be a "you absolutely MUST eat here, it's mind-blowing!" kind of breakfast,
it was more than satisfying and very convenient for families to enjoy a comfortable meal.
The American-style breakfast is served right by the beach,
so I’d love to try it out on my next visit.
The Pools
Main Pool / Kids Pool / Spa Pool
Living up to its 5-star Da Nang resort reputation,
there are three swimming pools in total.
The Main Pool is on the deeper side,
making it perfect for adults who love to swim,
while kids are allowed only when accompanied by a parent.
The Kids Pool has a shallow section,
so even toddlers can splash around safely without any worries.
We actually spent most of our time relaxing near the Kids Pool.
Life jackets were free to borrow,
and swim tubes were available to rent for a fee depending on the size.

While relaxing on the sunbeds around the pool,
you can easily order drinks or light snacks using a QR code,
so we treated ourselves to some delicious fresh mango juice :)
The Spa Pool is reserved for spa guests,
which gave it a much quieter, serene vibe.
Kids Club
Near the Pool Villas / 08:00-20:00
For families traveling to Da Nang with kids,
I know the Kids Club is a pretty important factor.
While the Grand Vrio Ocean Kids Club
isn't the most modern facility, it's cozy
with plenty of toys and play areas set up.
The staff were incredibly sweet, interactive, and playful,
so our little one had a wonderful time playing there.
They also offer paid babysitting and kids' activities,
so it’s a good idea to check the details on-site if you need them.
Free Ao Dai Rental
2nd Floor / 09:00-21:00
They even offer a free Ao Dai rental service,
so you can dress up and wear them around the resort!
We only tried them on in the fitting room
because our little one wasn’t in the mood to wear it outside, but
it's the perfect way to capture those iconic Vietnam travel photos.
Since this service is completely free,
it's such a great perk for friends, couples, and families!

comparing prices is an absolute must!
Depending on your travel dates,

can vary widely,
so it’s always best to compare carefully before deciding.
For the Grand Vrio Ocean,
based on a Grand Deluxe Room on a July weekday,

While it doesn't have the flashy, glitzy feel
of a brand-new resort,
out of all the 5-star hotels and resorts I've visited,
this place had by far the warmest and friendliest staff.
Add to that the pristine room conditions and the laid-back pool vibes,
and it made for an incredibly satisfying stay overall!
If you're planning a family trip with the kids,
a relaxing getaway with your parents,
or are simply looking for a quiet, peaceful 5-star resort in Da Nang,
you should definitely check this place out!
