The 2026 Cheorwon Goseokjeong Flower Garden

will be open from August 28th to October 31st,

making it Cheorwon's quintessential autumn travel destination.

​

This sprawling flower garden, spanning approximately 150,000 square meters,

blooms with over 150,000 flowers every year.

Of the ~$7 adult admission fee,

~$4 can be redeemed as a Cheorwon Love Gift Certificate.

I recently visited it as part of my autumn Cheorwon travel itinerary,

and I was genuinely surprised by how much larger the flower garden was than I expected!

From Celosia and Gomphrena to Verbena,

Cosmos, and Pink Muhly – you can see them all in one place,

making it a highly satisfying destination for autumn flower viewing.

1. 2026 Goseokjeong Flower Garden: Dates & Operating Information

This year, the autumn season for Cheorwon Goseokjeong Flower Garden

will run from August 28th to October 31st, '26.

However, please note that the closing date may vary depending on when the flowers fade,

and operating hours might be adjusted according to sunset times.

So, if you're planning a visit in October, I recommend double-checking before you head out!

The Goseokjeong Flower Garden spans approximately 150,000 square meters,

so if you imagine a typical flower garden, you'll find it

much, much larger than you anticipated!

When I first saw it from the entrance, I thought,

“Oh, I'll just take a leisurely stroll around.”

But once inside, the flower fields just seemed to stretch on endlessly!

So, if you want to take your time and snap some great photos,

I'd recommend setting aside at least 1.5 to 2 hours for your visit.

2. Entrance Fees & Cheorwon Love Gift Certificates

Admission is ~$7 per adult.

While the entrance fee might seem a little high at first glance,

the key highlight is that when you buy your ticket, ~$4

is returned to you as a Cheorwon Love Gift Certificate!

Rather than taking the gift certificates home with you,

I recommend using them right away at the event!

At Goseokjeong Flower Garden, you'll find food stalls, a tin-can train,

Cherwon agricultural and special product booths, craft sales booths, and more.

3. My Mid-September Review of Goseokjeong Flower Garden

The date I visited was September 12th,

right in the middle of September, and the colors in the flower garden were incredibly vibrant!

The most widespread flower I saw was the pink gaura.

With small blossoms at the tips of delicate stems,

they swayed so gracefully in the breeze – it was truly beautiful.

As you can see, with the mountains as a backdrop, the long pink flower path

stretches out, appearing almost like

waves made of blossoms when viewed from a distance.

There was also a large area planted with candle celosia

in shades of red, orange, and yellow,

and honestly, this spot made me exclaim 'Wow!' the most.

The flowers were planted in distinct color bands,

so when you look down from above, you get a breathtaking view of orange, red, and pink flower beds

layered on top of each other.

And surprisingly, one place I really loved was the area around the pond.

Pink gaura bloomed around the pond, which was full of large lotus leaves,

and with the addition of a waterwheel and straw-roofed sculptures,

it created a completely different atmosphere from the main flower garden.

Goseokjeong Flower Garden isn't just a place where flowers are planted in rows;

it's a space thoughtfully designed with a pond, walking paths, and photo zones,

so visiting in person was truly satisfying.

However, if you want to see plants like Pink Muhly and Kochia,

whose colors become even more intense as autumn deepens,

waiting until October might be a good idea.

4. Tin-Can Train & Viewing Tips

Considering the size of Goseokjeong Flower Garden,

it's better to plan your route and move around strategically

rather than just wandering aimlessly from the start.

Especially if you're visiting with kids or your parents,

I absolutely recommend the tin-can train!

The fare is ~$4 per person,

departing from near the lawn square within the flower garden

and operates by going around a course of about 1.2km.

It doesn't operate on a separate fixed timetable,

but rather, once you arrive and wait to board, it departs when it's full.

The train feels less like a fast-moving amusement park ride

and more like a slow journey through the flower fields,

closer to a sightseeing train where you can admire the scenery.

The total ride time is roughly 20 minutes,

and it stops for about 5 minutes in the middle of the ride for a photo opportunity.

But we actually just got off when it stopped,

and walked around to explore the rest!

If you want to capture some truly memorable photos,

look for the high windmill point with an open, panoramic view.

As you can see in the photos, looking down from above, below the mountain ridge,

the long fields of Gaura and Celosia flowers stretch out,

giving you a sense of the sheer scale of Goseokjeong Flower Garden at a glance.
