Gimcheon Cafe Solhyang (2026): Pet-Friendly Hanok Views

Near Jikjisa Temple (직지사), you'll find Samyeongdaesa Park (사명대사공원), a wonderful place for a leisurely stroll.

Within this beautiful park, I discovered Cafe Solhyang (카페솔향), a traditional Korean hanok cafe boasting stunning views of the Peace Pagoda (평화의탑)!

01 Gimcheon Jikjisa Cafe Solhyang: Location & Parking

I actually stayed overnight at Solhyang Stay (솔향스테이) in Gimcheon (김천). During an early morning stroll, I stumbled upon Cafe Solhyang. I knew I had to visit, so right after checking out, I headed straight there!

Cafe Solhyang is nestled within Samyeongdaesa Park, just below the Solhyang Stay parking lot. It was a convenient 5-minute walk from my accommodation.

I parked in the Solhyang Stay parking lot, but that's strictly for guests. If you're only visiting the cafe, you'll need to park at the main Samyeongdaesa Park parking lot and walk over.

It's a bit of a walk, so I did notice many people parking along the roadside closer to the cafe!

02 Cafe Solhyang: Menu & Seating Recommendations

Cafe Solhyang is designed in a 'ㄷ'-shaped traditional hanok style. They even provide slippers, making it easy and comfortable to walk between different sections of the cafe.

There are about three tables in the ordering area, but the real magic happens on the opposite side. From the window seats there, you get a panoramic view of the park and the magnificent Peace Pagoda!

With outdoor tables and traditional 'numaru' floor seating, you have plenty of options to choose from, making it easy to find your perfect spot.

Since I had just woken up and hadn't even showered, I initially planned to grab a quick takeout, just an Omija-cha (five-flavor berry tea). But to my surprise, the owner generously gave me a complimentary iced Americano! 😍

03 Cafe Solhyang Gimcheon: Peace Pagoda View

The Peace Pagoda, visible right outside the window, was absolutely stunning. I was busy trying to capture its beauty when the male owner approached me and offered to take my photo!

I had literally just rolled out of bed, still in my pajamas, planning to just grab coffee and head home. The situation was quite hilarious! The ironic twist? The photos he took turned out to be absolute masterpieces – truly "life shots"!

He spent well over 10-15 minutes, and his photo directing skills were absolutely incredible! If you want to capture your own "life shot" with the Peace Pagoda, I highly recommend subtly lingering near the owner. 😉

04 Cafe Solhyang: Pet-Friendly Information & Resident Dog Mango

The cafe's resident dog, Mango (망고), is absolutely adorable! I heard he loves playing with guests in the evenings but mostly naps in the mornings, which explains why he was constantly lounging around. No matter how much I petted him, he remained a perfectly calm and stable furry friend. 😘

Cafe Solhyang is also pet-friendly, making it a fantastic recommendation for anyone traveling to Gimcheon with their canine companions!

And did you know Gimcheon is famous for its grapes? The cafe was selling a box of delicious Shine Muscat grapes for only ₩10,000 (~$7). It would be a perfect souvenir to take home!

Cafe Solhyang is the perfect final stop after you've explored Jikjisa Temple and enjoyed a refreshing walk through Samyeongdaesa Park. 😍

The night view here is truly spectacular! Since Cafe Solhyang is open until 10:00 PM, you have plenty of time to explore at a relaxed pace. I highly recommend visiting around sunset to enjoy both the evening ambiance and the stunning night scenery!
