Ilwolyeojeong Gimcheon Pool Villa Review 2026: Family Jacuzzi Stay

For my dad's birthday this year, our entire family headed to Gimcheon, South Korea.

My brother had previously visited Ilwolyeojeong when looking for a baby-friendly accommodation in Gimcheon. He raved about how clean and fantastic it was, so he suggested we go back.

This time, three generations of our family were making the trip: from my grandparents to my middle schooler and my brother's 18-month-old baby. Since it was his second visit, we trusted it would be a great spot, and it certainly exceeded our expectations! This is my honest, self-funded review.

The Perfect Private Pool Villa Experience

Ilwolyeojeong operates with a total of four villas, and we rented two adjacent units, Villas C and D, for our stay.

Each villa has its own private yard, individual BBQ area, and fire pit, so we didn't have to worry about disturbing other guests and could truly enjoy intimate family time.

What's more, the villas are spaced quite far apart. This meant we could grill meat and play music a bit louder at night without feeling self-conscious, which was incredibly comfortable.

The grounds are so expansive and well-maintained that just watching the kids play in the yard brought a sense of joy and fulfillment at this Gimcheon private pool villa.

Special Birthday Table Rental Service for Dad's Celebration

Since the main purpose of this trip was my dad's birthday, I really wanted to plan something special for him.

Ilwolyeojeong offers a birthday table rental service, which I booked in advance, and they set everything up beautifully for photos.

Packing extra props would have been a hassle, but thanks to the lovely table setting provided by the villa, my parents were absolutely delighted, and we must have taken over a hundred commemorative photos!

If you're celebrating a family event like a birthday or a 60th birthday (Hwangap), I truly recommend this service. The thoughtful arrangements made my dad beam with happiness all day, making all the planning totally worth it :)

Pool (Villa C) and Jacuzzi (Villa D)

With three families staying together, space allocation was key, so we divided our families based on each villa's features.

My grandparents, who go to bed earlier, and my middle schooler, who needed a bit more privacy, stayed in the quiet and cozy Villa D (with the jacuzzi).

My brother's 18-month-old baby, who still needed mom and dad's close attention, and my husband and I stayed in Villa C, which has the pool, and we enjoyed playing a bit later into the night.

The pool in Villa C is heated, so the kids could play warmly 24 hours a day – it was perfect for them. There were plenty of tubes and water toys too, so even if there were multiple children, they wouldn't have to compete for fun.

The jacuzzi in Villa D had wonderfully hot water, ideal for the seniors to unwind and relieve their fatigue. Since it needs to fill up, it's a good idea to start filling it as soon as you check in :)

For a fantastic pool villa like this, checking the availability in advance is a must, right? We were lucky to visit on a weekday, but weekends tend to book up quickly.

Spacious Bedroom Layouts and Thoughtful Amenities

The villa interiors were incredibly spacious for families. Each unit featured two bedrooms (one with two queen beds, one with a single queen bed) and a separate attic space that kids adore, making it perfect for our three families to spread out comfortably.

Especially since the attic also had bedding prepared, there was absolutely no worry about sleeping arrangements.

Ilwolyeojeong in Gimcheon can accommodate from a minimum of 4 guests up to a maximum of 12 people, so depending on your group size, renting just one villa might be sufficient.

However, since our large family was gathering this time, we specifically booked two villas to enjoy a more spacious and private experience :)

The amenities included luxurious LUSH products, a baby bathtub, and even a Dyson hairdryer, showcasing the owner's meticulous attention to detail. Plus, they provided more than enough towels for multiple swims, making our stay at this Gimcheon pool villa feel truly pampering.

Planning a trip with a large extended family often comes with many accommodation dilemmas. Thanks to Ilwolyeojeong, my dad's birthday celebration this time was an absolute success.

From the private individual yards to the luxurious jacuzzi and the pool that the kids absolutely loved, nothing was missing.
