FULUWA HUOGUO |

Hello, explorers!
This is Nihao Lilili, your travel blogger specializing in the Greater China region.
If you're looking for an authentic Beijing dinner experience
near the Summer Palace,
make sure to check out Fuluwa Hotpot.
I saw a picture of people enjoying hotpot
in a courtyard (siheyuan) outdoor seating area,
and I immediately saved it as one of the most anticipated restaurants
for this trip.
I even made a reservation, but it just so happened to rain,
so I couldn't get the outdoor seat I wanted.
However, the ambiance of the courtyard in the rain
felt incredibly charming, and the taste was just as satisfying as I'd hoped.
So, let me tell you everything you need to know about Fuluwa,
including Gaode Map (Amap) integration, its location, how to make a reservation, and menu recommendations!
What You'll Find in This Post: ✔️ Fuluwa Hotpot's Location and Opening Hours ✔️ How to Search and Reserve on Dianping (Dazhong Dianping) ✔️ Recommended Broths and Ingredients for First-Timers ✔️ The Real Ambiance of the Courtyard Restaurant ✔️ Connecting Your Visit with the Summer Palace and Shopping |
1. Fuluwa Hotpot: Essential Information

You can easily find '福禄娃一家人四合院火锅'
by copying and pasting it into Dianping or Gaode Map (Amap).
In English, it's 'Fuluwa Family Hotpot,'
and I'll leave the Gaode Map (Amap) address at the bottom of the post!
It's about 500m from Exit A (Northwest) of Suzhoujie Station on Subway Line 10,
which is roughly a 7-10 minute walk.
Being close to the Summer Palace,
it's perfectly situated to include in your itinerary on the day you visit the palace.
Opening hours are
from 11 AM to 10 PM.
Based on Dianping, the average price per person is
about 132 CNY, so
it's not a budget hotpot restaurant.
The reason this place is so popular with locals is
the incredible ambiance of enjoying Sichuan-style hotpot
in a traditional courtyard (siheyuan),
which is currently one of China's hottest interior trends!
You get to savor truly authentic Chinese food
in the most authentically Chinese setting.

2. How to Book Fuluwa Hotpot on Dianping
Open the Dianping app and
paste the Chinese name of the restaurant,
‘福禄娃一家人四合院火锅’,
directly into the search bar.
(I'll leave the Dianping app link and the Chinese characters
in the first comment to make it easy to copy.)
On the restaurant's page, select
your desired date, time, and number of guests from the reservation menu.
If you want an outdoor courtyard (siheyuan) seat,
leave a request in the notes section, and then
double-check with the restaurant before your visit.
If this seems a bit challenging,
another great option is to ask your hotel front desk to make the reservation
or assist you!
I was so incredibly excited about this place that
I even specifically requested an outdoor seat when booking…
but wouldn't you know it, it rained ONLY on that day! 🥲🥲
And it rained... heavily.....

Since it's such a popular spot, if you have a specific time and seating preference,
it's safer to make a reservation rather than trying a walk-in on the day.
3. Menu & Ingredient Recommendations
If you're ordering Chinese hotpot for the first time,
a 'split pot' (half-and-half) with a spicy Mala broth
and a non-spicy broth is super convenient.
If you can choose the spice level,
definitely start with the mildest option!
You can order via QR code,
or, perhaps because I was a foreigner, they brought me a paper menu,
so you can just point and tell them what you'd like!
I meticulously ran everything through AI translation (lol)
and marked the commonly enjoyed menu items,
so definitely take a look!!

For a balanced meal, I recommend ordering
thinly sliced beef and lamb,
along with vegetables like shrimp, mushrooms, and bok choy.

There was a separate sauce bar available,
where you could create your own dipping sauces. I found that a classic Chinese combination of
sesame oil, minced garlic, green onions, and cilantro was great, or you could try a mix of sesame sauce, peanut paste, green onions, and garlic.

If you're not a fan of cilantro,
make sure to check the ingredients carefully before adding anything!!!
4. Fulu Hot Pot Review
When I visited,
Fulu Hot Pot had about 15,000 reviews on Dazhong Dianping,
and a rating of 4.8, so my expectations for the food
were just as high as my excitement for the ambiance.
It's a renowned spot that maintains such a high rating
despite so many reviews, and I felt a little sad that it isn't very well-known
among Korean travelers!
Initially, I was really looking forward to dining
outdoors in the Siheyuan courtyard,
but the rain forced us inside.

*Blurry because we rushed in to escape the rain!!*
At first, I was so disappointed by the weather,
but as we enjoyed our piping hot hot pot while gazing at the
wet courtyard and eaves, the atmosphere actually became even more enchanting.

I was worried it might just be a restaurant that looks good in photos,
but guess what? The hot pot was incredibly delicious!
The warm hot pot was perfectly comforting on a rainy day, and it was
so good that I ended up overeating, big time;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

The price point is similar to Haidilao, making it on the pricier side
among local restaurants, but considering you also get to experience the unique
Siheyuan setting, it was definitely worth visiting at least once.
If you can sit outdoors on a beautiful day,
the meal itself will feel like a memorable highlight of your trip.
I've captured some reviews from Dazhong Dianping,
so you can get a better sense of the ambiance!

5. Must-Visit Spots Near the Summer Palace
After spending half a day exploring the Summer Palace from the morning,
it's a great idea to head to Fuluwa for a late lunch
or an early dinner.
Since you'll be doing a lot of walking at the Summer Palace,
make sure not to schedule your next reservation too tightly.
After your meal, you can head to Zhongguancun Plaza
(zhongguangchun plaza shoppingmall)
to browse and shop at stores like KKV, Holyland, Pop Mart, and Judydoll!
And if you walk about 10 minutes from this shopping mall,
you'll connect right to U-Mart for even more shopping! ❣️

If you string them together in this order — Summer Palace → Fuluwa Hot Pot →
Zhongguancun Shopping → U-Mart — you can fill your day beautifully
without too much back-and-forth travel, so keep that in mind!
