Fukuoka Oktoberfest 2026: Beer Festival Guide & Prices
Catch the lively Fukuoka Oktoberfest 2026! Read our honest review on beer prices, crowd survival tips, and how to make the most of this autumn festival.
During my latest trip, I got incredibly lucky and happened to cross paths with the Fukuoka Oktoberfest! This lively beer festival, which originally started in Munich, Germany, has truly spread its festive wings all across the globe.
The Fukuoka Oktoberfest is typically held in October. When I visited, the festival hours were from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, and from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekends.

This is what the vibe looks like...
It gets seriously crowded! If you arrive late, finding an open table can be a real challenge (even though they have tons of seating), but if you keep your eyes peeled, you can usually snag a spot.

Walking in with high anticipation.
There is no admission fee to enter, but there is a glass deposit system. It varies depending on the style of the glass, but it is typically 1,000 JPY (around $6.50), which is fully refunded when you return the glass. (Honestly, with how expensive the beer itself is, charging an entrance fee on top of that would be criminal!)

First of all, the lines are incredibly long...
But here is a pro-tip: do not just blindly jump into any line. They have separate lines for payment and pick-up. You must first queue up at the cashier line to pay and get a coupon, and then take that coupon to the respective booth to collect your food or drinks.
If you are traveling with friends, the best strategy is to divide and conquer! Have different people queue up at different lines to save time. The menu options vary widely by booth, and there is a huge selection to choose from.

It is incredibly packed inside. Everyone is in a boisterous, celebratory mood.

This is the atmosphere outside the main stage area.
Now that I've taken enough photos, it is time for a drink! As always, I started my night with a classic Weizen.

This is a 500 ml Weizen, and guess how much it cost?
It was ~$10 (1,500 JPY) for just this one glass.
Between this glass, my friend's glass, and the two glass deposits, I ended up paying about ~$32 upfront just to get started...

For round two, I got this smaller 330 ml pour...
Which cost ~$7 (1,100 JPY).
Because of the steep prices and the massive lines, we decided to skip the food altogether, haha.
While it is a fantastic festival where you can mingle with locals and soak in a great atmosphere, the wait times and prices are definitely things to keep in mind.
A funny thing I noticed: many people in line were already drinking a beer while waiting to order their next one! It is the ultimate queue hack.
Price aside, the beer was absolutely top-tier. If you want to sample authentic, high-quality German beers in Japan, it is definitely worth a visit. I went on a weekend evening, which probably explains why it was so packed.

Keep in mind that the last call is at 9:40 PM. They will not take any orders after that.
Catching the Fukuoka Oktoberfest by pure chance was a major highlight of my trip. It definitely pays to look up local festival calendars when planning your travels to add some extra excitement to your itinerary!
