As an expectant mom, finding a restaurant that offered both impeccable hygiene and fantastic quality was a top priority. After thorough research, I discovered Hama-Sushi!

1. Okinawa Sushi Restaurants

When you visit Okinawa, indulging in authentic Japanese sushi is practically a must-do!
As I was planning my babymoon, I scoured countless reviews for restaurants that were both budget-friendly and offered high-quality fare. That's how I landed on Hama-Sushi, a famous conveyor belt sushi chain!

Hama-Sushi has branches all over Okinawa, making it super convenient to fit into your travel itinerary no matter where you are.
It's a huge hit not only with tourists but also with locals, and when we visited, there were many families enjoying their meals.

Above all, the value for money at this Okinawa hotspot was truly impressive!
The fish was incredibly fresh, and the variety was astonishing 🫢
While a high-end omakase experience is wonderful, Hama-Sushi is the perfect spot to enjoy a satisfying sushi feast without breaking the bank.

3. Inside the Restaurant

The restaurant was much larger and cleaner than I expected.

Upon entering, you'll find a kiosk where you can select the number of people in your party and get a waiting ticket. The best part? It offers a language selection, including English, so even if you don't speak Japanese, it's incredibly easy to navigate!

They have single seats available for solo diners, and plenty of tables that can accommodate groups of 2 to 6, making it suitable for everyone from solo travelers to families.

Each table is equipped with a tablet, allowing you to easily order your desired dishes in English!

Once you've placed your order, a delightful tune signals that your sushi is on its way, zipping directly to your table on a dedicated rail. It's an entertaining experience that kids absolutely love!

Another great feature was the selection of five different types of soy sauce!
You can pick your favorite to complement your sushi; personally, the red bottle was my top choice! Wasabi is also provided in individual packets, allowing you to add as much or as little as you like.

Overall, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making for a truly satisfying dining experience 🫶
4. Hama-Sushi Okinawa Menu

Hama-Sushi boasts an incredibly diverse menu.
You'll find a vast selection including salmon, tuna, scallop, shrimp, crab, eel, squid, and even wagyu sushi, plus seasonal limited-time offerings.

My personal favorites were definitely the salmon and crab meat! All the seafood was so fresh that I kept ordering more.
The tuna and shrimp were consistently delicious, and the crab meat options were sure to be a hit with kids.

The wagyu sushi was a slight disappointment for me, personally. The flavor was a bit more ordinary than I'd hoped, so next time I visit, I'll stick mainly to the fish sushi!

Beyond sushi, they also offer a variety of side dishes like udon, ramen, and tempura, plus a tempting selection of desserts, making it a great place to visit with kids.

The prices at Okinawa's Hama-Sushi were truly satisfying. Each plate is very affordable, allowing us to order a wide array of dishes without concern. We both ate until we were absolutely stuffed, and the bill came out to only about ~$24!
With its delicious food, excellent prices, and diverse menu, Hama-Sushi is a value-for-money sushi spot in Okinawa that I confidently recommend if you want to enjoy sushi without the hefty price tag.
If you're planning a trip to Southern Okinawa in 2026, make sure to visit Hama-Sushi's Itoman Shiohira branch!
🤍🤍🤍
It is open from 11:00 AM to midnight on weekdays, and from 10:00 AM to midnight on weekends. There is a spacious free parking lot in front of the restaurant, making it convenient for visitors using rental cars.
It takes about 20 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Because it is close to the airport, it is an ideal location to include in a travel itinerary for southern Okinawa.
Yes, it is. Both the ticketing kiosk at the entrance and the ordering tablets at the tables offer multi-language support (including Korean), allowing you to order conveniently without any language barrier.
The price per plate is very affordable, so even if two people eat until they are full, it will cost about 4,000 yen. It is budget-friendly, allowing you to enjoy a wide variety of sushi at a great value.
