A Family Trip to Chuncheon, Gangwon-do,
A Review of Sup323 Pension: Your Value-for-Money Stay
ⓒ Text & Photos by Ari
My recent holiday trip to Chuncheon, Gangwon-do!
With six of us traveling, we debated whether to find a really spacious spot
or opt for a more budget-friendly place where everyone could still relax comfortably.
Our decision leaned towards value. We planned to enjoy watersports during the day,
grab a meal nearby, and then in the evening, just
we wanted a place where we could grill some meat and hang out. But spacious accommodations were
not only pricey, but the extra charges for additional guests really added up.
In the end, it was an incredibly smart choice,
and that's why I'm recommending Sup323 Pension as a fantastic family stay in Chuncheon.
I'm sharing my review, so if you're wondering where to go on a weekend or holiday,
take a look and hopefully it helps you plan!
1. What's the approximate booking cost?

First off, I stayed for one night, from July 17-18, 2026,
during the Constitution Day holiday.

I booked my stay through Yeogieottae (a popular Korean travel app),
Visit Period | Price |
Weekdays | ~$55 ~ ~$75 |
Weekends/Holidays | ~$89 ~ ~$124 |
Prices vary depending on whether it's a weekday, peak season, off-peak season, or weekend.
I booked during a holiday that fell within the off-peak season,
and the reservation cost me ~$96.
Discount Tips

How to use Yeogieottae discount coupons |
1️⃣ Use basic coupons for 20% off |
2️⃣ First-come, first-served additional coupon for ~$7 off |

Since I booked before peak season rates kicked in,
I applied discount coupons to the ~$96 rate,
and managed to book three rooms, each for around ~$83.
That's how we ended up going!
✔️ Chuncheon Sup323 Pension rooms are typically for two guests,
and can accommodate up to four. If you have more than two people,
an additional charge of ~$14 per person applies.
Since there were six of us, we technically needed at least two rooms.
However, with the coupon discounts available, the cost per person for adding guests
wasn't significantly different from booking an extra room, so we ended up booking three rooms instead.

2. Where is Sup323 Pension located?
📍 Sup323
362-83 Seobaek-gil, Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province
Nestled in Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon-si,
Sup323 Pension, our value-for-money gem, is
about a 30-minute drive from Nami Island and Elysian Gangchon Ski Resort,
a charming pension tucked away in a mountain valley.
This means you get the benefit of being close to nature
and enjoying peaceful tranquility away from crowds. However,
there is the minor drawback of occasionally encountering some insects.
Honestly, if you're staying in accommodation near a forest or river during summer,
a few bugs are pretty much unavoidable. I personally don't see it as a deal-breaker that detracts from the overall quality of the stay.
3. What Room Types Are Available?

With a total of six rooms,
Sup323 offers three rooms with beds and three traditional 'ondol' style rooms,
providing two distinct room types.
Now, for a personal recommendation: if you're considering an ondol room (a room with a heated floor, where you sleep on traditional bedding),
it's based on laying down blankets to sleep. So if you're not used to sleeping without much cushioning
If you have trouble sleeping, definitely book a bedded room!
When I made the reservation, there was 1 bedded room and 2 ondol rooms left,
so I booked all the available rooms. My parents took the bedded room,
and my children + aunt used the ondol rooms.
Bedded Room

It's structured like a 1.5-room space, featuring a small living room,
a bedroom, a bathroom, and a veranda (with a private BBQ area).
It's a simply laid out configuration.

The bedroom comes with one double bed.
Ondol Room

The ondol room isn't significantly different from the bedded room,
but instead of a bed, it's equipped only with traditional Korean bedding (quilts).
Since it was summer, both the sleeping mat and the quilt were thin.
You might find it uncomfortable for your back, so when booking,
it's essential to check for a bedded room if you prefer.
Kitchen/Living Room

The kitchen and living room are common facilities shared by both room types.
The kitchen is set up for simple cooking,
and it's amply stocked with cooking utensils like pots and frying pans, as well as dishes, spoons,
and chopsticks.

There's also a large refrigerator, a microwave, and other appliances.
Sometimes the power cords might be unplugged during cleaning,
so please check beforehand and plug them in before storing food.

The living room has a fan, a TV, and a table.
We mostly spent our time at the outdoor BBQ area,
so we didn't really watch TV.
4. What about the Facilities and Services?
There are two main facilities worth checking out:
the BBQ area and the swimming pool.
Swimming Pool

Since we had already enjoyed some water activities,
we didn't use the swimming pool.
However, if you're traveling with children,
there's a communal swimming pool where they can safely splash around.
BBQ Area

Next up is the BBQ area.
Each room has a private BBQ facility located on what serves as its veranda.
If you request it by 6 PM at check-in,
the owner will prepare the BBQ for you right on time for your meal.

Since there were six of us, we were initially wondering where to set up.
But there's a large, separate facility specifically for groups staying in multiple rooms,
so we comfortably enjoyed our meal there.
Communication

Honestly, whether it's a hotel, a guesthouse, or glamping,
From a traveler's perspective, after cleanliness, I think good communication with the host is key.
Imagine something unexpected comes up and you need to ask a question – it's incredibly frustrating if you can't get hold of anyone, right?
Here, they handled all my inquiries via text message,
and their super-fast replies were incredibly reassuring.
Plus, these days, many owners manage their properties from afar.
But the host here was right on-site, always available to check in,
which I absolutely loved. I'm definitely thinking of coming back again!
Amenities

First off, with stricter regulations on providing single-use items,
there's a growing trend of accommodations recently not offering many amenities.
Soop323 Pension, which I highly recommend as a budget-friendly family stay for a trip to Chuncheon, Gangwon-do,
provides toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Plus, shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and a generous supply of towels
were all conveniently available in each room, which was fantastic.
Even the toothbrushes and toothpaste weren't single-use!
They were reusable products, so after using them,
I smartly packed them up to take home, and I plan to bring them on every trip from now on.
Wrapping Up

So, during my brief but memorable 1-night, 2-day trip to Chuncheon, Gangwon-do,
I stayed at the incredibly satisfying, budget-friendly accommodation,
Soop323 Pension, and I've shared my review here!
This spot is perfect for travelers who:
1️⃣ Are traveling in a group but prefer to stay two people per room. |
2️⃣ Want to book a budget-friendly accommodation costing less than ~$69 per person. |
3️⃣ Want to grill some delicious meat near Nami Island or Gangchon and cool off with a quick dip if it's hot. |
This place is highly recommended for these types of people.
I hope my review helps you plan and have a fantastic summer vacation!
