The festival ran for two days, August 22nd and 23rd,

but I departed on Sunday afternoon.

My HSK exam on Sunday morning finished earlier than I expected,

and even after getting home, I deliberated whether or not to go to Goseong,

but eventually decided to leave.

Folks, summer in Gangwon-do is incredibly popular,

and if you're planning to go to Goseong, an intercity bus or a private car are your only options, so you need to decide as quickly as possible.

Still, I was so relieved that the festival continued until dawn.

All buses to Goseong were sold out,

On the Express Bus T-money app,

search for Gimpo Airport > Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal

and you'll find there are usually some tickets available.

Surprisingly, intercity buses often have a lot of canceled tickets.

Honestly, I'm not sure if the Fingerprint Summer Festival will be held

at the same locations next year.

But this year, it was held

in the hottest spot, Goseong, Gangwon-do,

with stages at the venues mentioned above.

The main festival venue offered a magnificent view,

nestled in the mountains with Seoraksan in sight.

The Beach Stage was

held at Glasshaus in Goseong

concurrently.

The Fingerprint Goseong Festival actually

had three stages!

So, my friend who went yesterday said

that the Goseong Glass House, which was the beach stage,

was super hot and incredibly fun.

So, I decided to go to Glass House first, then move to

the main stage near Ulsanbawi Rock.

Goseong Glass House is located near Goseong Cheonjin Beach,

while Neuru Camping Ground is a bit further inland (?), closer to Ulsanbawi Rock.

It's about a 20-minute journey between them,

but the festival organizers provided shuttle buses between the venues,

making it super easy to get around.

Since the Glass House, which is the beach stage, only operates until 11 PM,

I took the festival shuttle around 11 PM

and got off on the way to Camping Neuru.

The path there is through the mountains, haha.

As you can see, the path was dark.

There were some lights along the way, but it was still quite dark.

While there's a special, mystical feeling that comes with a hard-to-reach festival

(hidden deep in the mountains...)

that's really cool and unique,

one thing that was a bit inconvenient was that the path was dark,

and both people and cars had to share the narrow road leading up to the festival grounds.

The mountain path at night was dark AND narrow.

As I was walking up, I was genuinely scared of getting hit by a car

or falling off the side of the path while trying to make way for a passing vehicle.

It was a bit scary.

I feel like it would be safer if they either made it a car-only road or had everyone walk all the way from the entrance.

Anyway, just like those festivals held in caves in Vietnam,

I really loved the special vibe that comes with a hard-to-reach festival venue!!!

The ticket price was ~$53,

but they gave us a proper festival wristband!

There were also three stages,

and it was a super long festival, running from day

until 6 AM? 8 AM? the next morning.

Plus, they operated shuttle buses within Gangwon-do,

Thinking about it after I got home,

it turned out to be a pretty generous festival for the price!

Tickets could be bought via Naver or the RA app,

but when I tried to buy one late after arriving in Gangwon-do,

online sales were blocked.

So, I just bought it on-site at the main stage entrance.

At first, I just had fun by myself,

then I met up with a friend and we partied together.

I was so rushed in the morning that I didn't think about what to wear,

and just grabbed whatever,

so I didn't get to wear anything I really loved, boo hoo.

I even brought a windbreaker just in case it got cold,

but it wasn't cold until morning, so I barely wore it.

Apparently, it was rainy and hot yesterday,

but on Sunday for the Fingerprint Festival,

the weather was perfect!

A festival deep in the mountains of Gangwon-do? Yes, please!

It was so good.

There were two stages, with the main stage running until morning,

while the other stage finished around 2 AM, I think.

You could buy drinks at both stages.

If you got hungry, you could buy food at the food court right at the festival entrance.

The taste was just okay, but I was grateful to be able to fill my stomach.

To cut to the chase, it was SO much fun!

Raving in the mountains all night long ~~~

However, there were times when I got tired and felt there weren't enough places to rest.

Being in the mountains meant you couldn't just pop back to your accommodation,

which was both a pro and a con, I guess?

You were basically 'trapped' in the mountains, so you just had to keep raving at the festival.

I think there were shuttle buses heading down around 2 PM, 4 PM, and 6 PM, something like that.

But I really, really wanted to capture that Seoraksan view, lol!

Because you can't see the Seoraksan view very well at night...

So I stubbornly stayed up and partied until sunrise.

People who came with friends seemed to spread something out on the ground and relax there,

but I just went straight up and partied until 6 AM!

So, by stubbornly holding out, I managed to capture this beautiful video of raving with the Seoraksan backdrop

before heading down the mountain.

Watching it get brighter in real-time

was truly amazing.

Everyone has such great stamina, seriously...

Among my friends, the really fit one left around 4 AM.

By 6 AM, when I was still partying, all the 'fit' people had disappeared... (hmm?).

Is it really true that muscle and stamina are inversely proportional...? (lol, just kidding).

Just a heads-up, I was too shy to properly film a video!

But after actually going there, I truly realized

that I absolutely love these kinds of boutique techno festivals

held deep in the mountains or in some mysterious location!
