Having visited a lab in the Windermere area recently, I was struck by the vibrant commercial district surrounding it. It felt like a place brimming with potential discoveries! I'd heard about night markets and upcoming events happening in the neighborhood, only to realize it was the very same bustling area I'd just explored. So, with a mission to uncover a great cafe, I intentionally set out for Mokha Coffee House.

☀️ First Impressions: Sun-Drenched & Upscale Interior

The moment I stepped inside, my first thought was, "Ah, this is a sun-drenched haven!" Sunlight poured in through the expansive windows, creating a wonderfully bright and inviting atmosphere. The interior design felt genuinely upscale, and the chairs were surprisingly comfortable, making it easy to settle in for a long stay.
Initially, I just thought it was a cafe with beautiful natural light, but I soon realized it offered a unique Yemeni-style coffee house ambiance. The high ceilings, large windows, and luxurious decor combined to create a vibe distinct from your average neighborhood coffee shop.
🥐 Ordering Tips & Bakery Treats

Upon entering, I briefly struggled to find the menu. Turns out, a large menu board is prominently displayed high up on one of the walls! If you visit, don't be shy – just look up. 😆
Below the menu, a tempting array of delicious bakery items was showcased, perfect for pairing with your coffee.
💻 Two Floors, Two Vibes (Laptop User Tips!)

Mokha was bustling, with both its first and second floors filled with customers. I discovered an interesting rule:
First Floor: No Laptops Allowed
Second Floor: Laptops Permitted
This was the guidance I received during my visit. If you're planning to bring your laptop, make sure to head straight for the second-floor seating.
Upstairs, everyone seemed to be immersed in work or intense study, each with a laptop in front of them. The relaxed and free atmosphere makes the second floor an ideal spot for solo work sessions.
☕️ The Most Important Part: How's the Coffee?
While I usually opt for an Americano, this time I was curious about their standard brew, so I ordered a simple Drip Coffee.
The verdict? "Oh, this coffee is excellent!" ☕️✨ It was aromatic and clean, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.
The pricing was also quite reasonable. Though the menu photo I took was a bit reflective due to the strong sunlight, making exact prices hard to confirm, I recall an Americano being in the high $3 range, and the Drip Coffee around $3.40. With a $1 tip, my total came to $4.40. Please check the menu for current prices during your visit!
Considering today's prices, that's a pretty sweet deal, wouldn't you agree?
If you're exploring the shops in Windermere, or simply seeking a comfortable, sun-drenched space to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and unwind, I warmly recommend Mokha Coffee House.
Next time, I'm definitely bringing my laptop to enjoy a productive session on the second floor. Though, let's be honest, there's a good chance I'll just end up sipping coffee and soaking in the atmosphere! ☕️🤣
Have a wonderful day!
