After a morning of Michaels Kids Craft wrapped up earlier than expected, we made a spontaneous detour to IKEA Edmonton. Usually, we'd swing by for lunch or dinner, but this time, we serendipitously hit their breakfast hours! 🥞
Join me as I share my honest review of IKEA's breakfast menu, the scoop on weekend IKEA Family free coffee, and a valuable $50 discount coupon valid until November 1, 2026!
🥞 IKEA Weekend Breakfast Menu: My Honest Review of the $5.99 Plate

Price: $5.99
Menu Includes: Pancakes, Bacon, Sausage, Hash Browns, Scrambled Eggs
This time, we ordered the IKEA Deluxe Breakfast. It comes with everything on one plate: fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, savory sausage, golden hash browns, and scrambled eggs.
However, there was a slight snag….
I happened to be on a low-iodine diet at the time! 😭
I ordered it to feed my child, but there was practically nothing I could eat myself, making it truly a feast for the eyes only. Plus, my little one still has a slight egg allergy, so we had to skip the scrambled eggs for them. Between my diet restrictions and my child's allergies, it was quite the breakfast adventure right from the start! 😂
💡 Visiting with Kids? Consider the Kids' Menu!

I've had IKEA's kids' menu before, which usually includes child-friendly options like meatballs, along with apple juice or other fruit juices. It's a hit with kids, making it a great option when a regular adult meal feels too much for a small appetite.
However, since I ordered the regular Deluxe Breakfast this time, I didn't confirm if the kids' menu is available during breakfast hours. If you're visiting in the morning, it's a good idea to check the available menu options at the restaurant first!
According to IKEA Edmonton's official information, breakfast is served from 10 AM to 11 AM. So, even if you sleep in a bit, make sure to arrive before 11 AM to catch the breakfast special. ⏰
☕ Weekend Perk: Is IKEA Family Free Coffee Still Available?

I've enjoyed free coffee at IKEA on weekdays before, but I always wondered if the same perk applied on weekends. So, this time, I decided to find out for myself!
After scanning my IKEA Family barcode at the checkout, the $1.50 coffee was indeed processed as free! 🎉 It's great to confirm that you can still enjoy free coffee benefits on weekends.
IKEA Canada's official guide also states that IKEA Family members can receive a free regular coffee or tea at the Swedish Restaurant. It's super convenient to have your membership barcode ready when you visit.
That day, however, one of the two coffee machines was out of order, and the remaining one wasn't exactly in prime condition. Wouldn't you know it, coffee grounds were floating around in my cup… ☕😂
Being on a low-iodine diet, black coffee was my only option, so it was a bit disappointing. Still, a warm cup of coffee helped set a nice weekend morning mood.
🎈 Småland & Shopping Time: A Parent's Retreat
After fueling up, we naturally headed to Småland, the essential stop for any child visiting IKEA. While my little one had a blast playing, I finally had some time to leisurely browse the store.
Normally, I'm busy chasing after them, so it was wonderful to have a moment to myself to explore the interior design and furniture sections. The IKEA Edmonton Småland is a fantastic play area for kids, but remember to check their operating hours and usage conditions before your visit.
🏷️ [Hot Tip!] IKEA Canada $50 Discount Coupon Code!
Actually, I had another mission for this IKEA trip: to browse bookshelves for my child's room! I had a discount coupon ready, but since I was visiting alone with my child, I didn't dare attempt to load a heavy bookshelf into the car. So, I postponed it. 😂
Instead, I'll share the discount coupon information you can use at IKEA Canada:
Discount: $50 off purchases of $150 or more
Coupon Code: IKEACA50
Valid Until: November 1, 2026
Where to Use: IKEA Canada online and in-store
Who Can Use: IKEA Family or IKEA Business Network members
Online, log into your member account and enter the code at checkout. In-store, present your member card and the coupon details. Please note, this offer requires a pre-tax purchase of $150 or more and may not apply to certain kitchen items, appliances, gift cards, restaurant/bistro/food market purchases, services, and other excluded items. It also cannot be combined with other coupons or discounts, so be sure to check the full terms and conditions before purchasing.
Though I couldn't bring the bookshelf home this time, I plan to visit again with my husband before November 1st to do some proper shopping! 🛒 If you're planning to buy furniture or storage solutions from IKEA, check if you qualify for this discount. $50 off a $150+ purchase is a pretty sweet deal!
🧡 My IKEA Edmonton Outing Summary
Our weekend IKEA trip, sparked by a Michaels Kids Craft session!

Confirmed free weekend coffee for IKEA Family members.
My child had a blast playing at Småland.
I got to browse the store at my leisure and snagged a $50 discount coupon for later.
