Eco Tree Hotel Sheung Wan Review

If this is your first time traveling to Hong Kong, you might be
wondering which neighborhood is the best area to stay.
Today, I’m excited to share a fantastic, budget-friendly hotel
in Sheung Wan, a neighborhood I highly recommend: Eco Tree Hotel Sheung Wan.
💡 I'll also share tips on how to book it at the lowest price
below, so keep reading!
The budget-friendly Hong Kong stay I'm recommending is
Eco Tree Hotel, located in Sheung Wan.
Let me show you why I chose Eco Tree Hotel
using the map below.

When planning a trip to Hong Kong, you'll probably find yourself
choosing between Tsim Sha Tsui in the north and Sheung Wan in the south
for your accommodation.
Personally, having experienced the trip, I highly recommend
staying in Sheung Wan.
On the map, I’ve marked the spots I actually visited
or planned to go.
Just looking at the sheer number of spots, there were way more
places I wanted to visit around Sheung Wan.
When traveling abroad, having easy access to your destinations
from your hotel makes the whole trip so much more comfortable.

Since Eco Tree Hotel is located in Sheung Wan, it offers
fantastic accessibility to Kennedy Town, the Mid-Levels Escalator,
Victoria Park, and tons of great local restaurants.

Plus, it's just a 1-minute walk from Sai Ying Pun MTR Station,
a tram stop is within 100 meters,
and a 7-Eleven convenience store is right across the street, making
the location absolutely top-notch!
Especially given Hong Kong's high cost of living,
being able to stay here at such a reasonable price
is a huge advantage.
Many hotels in Hong Kong easily cost over ~$128 per night,
but at Eco Tree, we booked a room in the ~$64 range..!

So, you must be wondering
where you can book it for the cheapest price, right?
Whenever I travel, I meticulously
compare hotel prices across various booking sites
and book through the cheapest one.
If you want to book Eco Tree Hotel at a low price,
take a look at the price comparison table below!
Currently, for a Superior Room on a weekday in August,
Trip.com offers the best rate.
Eco Tree Hotel Sheung Wan (Based on weekdays in August) | Trip.com | Agoda |
Superior Room | ~$71 | ~$77 |
Now, let me give you a detailed tour
of Eco Tree Hotel Sheung Wan!

The reception for Eco Tree Hotel is on the 7th floor,
so you just need to take the elevator up.
For your reference, the hotel's check-in and check-out times are as follows:
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM

Since we arrived before the check-in time,
we requested to leave our luggage first.
By the way, they offer luggage storage for both check-in and check-out,
which made things incredibly convenient!

Another great thing about Eco Tree Hotel is
that they have a cold water dispenser.
Since Hong Kong can be quite expensive,
constantly buying bottled water can feel like a burden,
so having a water dispenser at the hotel was a lifesaver!

Right next to the Eco Tree Hotel reception,
there’s a lounge area with cozy sofas and bar stools.
Personally, I thought this space was decorated
more beautifully than most cafes,
giving off total Instagram-worthy vibes!

Above all, the Hong Kong city view from here
was exactly the kind of Hong Kong aesthetic I was looking for.
I loved sitting on the sofa to cool off
and enjoy the view before heading back out..!
Personally, I think Hong Kong's city views
are much more charming than ocean views,
so I booked a city view room.
Next up, here is my review of the Superior City View Room.

The Superior City View Room is about 20 square meters,
which is quite spacious for a hotel in Hong Kong.
I booked a twin room, so there were
two beds side-by-side in the center of the room.

True to its name, just beyond the window,
Hong Kong's towering skyscrapers rose into the sky,
and the night view was even better than expected!
(It was a similar view to the lobby lounge,
which made me so glad I chose the city view.)

Along one wall, there was a TV, drying rack,
electric kettle, mini fridge, mugs, teaspoons,
and tea bags, etc.

On another wall, there’s a table and chair,
which was perfect for working or having a late-night snack.
Just a heads-up, though not pictured, they also provide disposable slippers,
an umbrella, a safe, and a wardrobe.

The bathroom features a shower booth, toilet,
and sink all together.
The water pressure in both the shower and sink was great,
making it super comfortable to use!

As for standard amenities, shampoo, conditioner, body wash,
toothbrush, razor, comb, and hair dryer
are fully provided!
I'd highly recommend packing your own facial cleanser
or cleansing oil, since those aren't included.
Located in Sheung Wan, Eco Tree Hotel is
priced in the ~$64 a night range, and in expensive Hong Kong,
it's a total lifesaver of a budget-friendly hotel.
Plus, being located near the MTR and tram stations,
it has fantastic accessibility to all the main sights.
Even if I visit Hong Kong again,
this is a place I’d absolutely stay at again!
Most of all, I think Hong Kong’s forest of skyscrapers
holds a very unique aesthetic,
and being able to experience this vibe
right from the comfort of the hotel made me so satisfied!
So, using the price comparison table and
discount coupons I shared above,
I hope you score an amazing deal on your booking!
