Dotonbori Wonder Cruise Osaka: 2026 Booking Guide

I came to ride the Dotonbori Wonder Cruise!

The regular price is

2,000 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for kids,

which is about ~$13,

but I bought the Amazing Pass,

which costs in the ~$19 range,

in advance to save money!

The Osaka Amazing Pass gives you free entry

or discounts to about 40 top attractions + transit!

I purchased the

1-day pass

in advance.

​

They have 1-day

and 2-day passes.

There's a similar pass called the Joy Pass,

but the difference is that the Joy Pass

doesn't include public transportation.

Location

If you go straight down

from Exit 2 of

Nipponbashi Station,

you'll arrive right there!

In Dotonbori,

there are two types of boats:

the River Cruise and

the Wonder Cruise.

The difference is

that you can book the Wonder Cruise

online in advance,

so there is less waiting time!

Also, since the boat has a roof,

you can still ride it

without getting wet when it rains.

How to Exchange Your Cruise Tickets

​

To board

the Wonder Cruise,

head down

the stairs,

​

and the staff

will guide you right away

so you can exchange

your cruise tickets!

First, line up briefly at Line 1

and show your Amazing Pass

on your mobile phone

at the cruise ticket desk.

I had already booked

our timeslot on the official

Wonder Cruise website,

but since we were a group of 7,

I was worried about not finding seats

or waiting too long.

So I showed them that reservation too,

​

and they exchanged it

for physical tickets

for us.

Then, you line up at Line 2

and you'll be on the boat

in no time!

Because of ticket exchange and queuing,

it's highly recommended to arrive

at least 15 minutes early to wait.

How to pre-book

your Wonder Cruise time:

Once you've filled everything out,

you'll receive an email confirming your reservation date!

Since only the 5 adults in our group

bought the Osaka Amazing Pass,

​

we didn't get passes

for the kids.

​

Our 7-year-old

paid 1,000 yen (~$7),

and our 5-year-old

was completely free!

Also, 5-year-olds

can ride the subway

for free too!

​

​

They even gave us a discount coupon for drinks!

The absolute biggest highlight

of the Dotonbori Wonder Cruise

is being able to enjoy

Osaka's iconic night views

right from the water.

​

We cruised slowly for about 20 minutes

through Dotonbori,

which was glowing with vibrant neon lights.

It felt completely different

and so much cooler

than seeing it from the streets!

Once you board the boat,

it's open seating

on a first-come, first-served basis.

Honestly, no matter which side you sit on,

you can snap some amazing photos!

The guide hosted the tour by mixing

Korean and English commentary,

so we could enjoy the experience

completely stress-free!

Recommended Times

While the daytime is great,

I highly recommend booking

after 6:00 PM for the glittering night views,

or around 5:00 PM

to catch the sunset!

It's short, but incredibly memorable!

To capture the best photos

and enjoy the stunning night views,

please note that peak hours

can have quite a wait.

Booking your tickets in advance

is highly recommended!

Not only will you get a discount,

but it also saves you precious time,

making it a much better experience.

During the entire ride, our guide

shared so many fun stories,

making time absolutely fly by!

We enjoyed the beautiful sights,

listened to local trivia, played quizzes,

and had so much fun!
